The anahaw or round-leaf fountain palm, one of the Philippines' national symbols, served as the inspiration of CJ Opiaza's costume for Miss Grand International 2024. 

Created by Patrick Isorena, the intricate costume is made with thousands of golden crystals and leaf-shaped fabric embellishments.

Opiaza's national costume was intended to "represent every Filipinos' spirit of resiliency," according to a post on her Instagram page.

The colors of gold and green, on the other hand, is a "homage to the vivacious colors of Miss Grand International."

Opiaza is aiming for the Philippines' first-ever Miss Grand International crown. 

This year's coronation night will be held in Thailand on October 25.
