SINGAPORE -- Disney Cruise Line (DCL) has unveiled its first Asia-based ship, promising a memorable vacation at sea for people of all ages as well as unique regional offerings. 

Disney Adventure is the first of DCL's upcoming additions to its growing fleet (a total of 13 ships by 2031 from the current 5), and will have its maiden voyage from Singapore on December 15, 2025.

"It's our first-ever ship to set sail in Asia," Sharon Siskie, DCL senior vice president and general manager, said during their recent media launch event at Marina Bay Sands. 

"We're incredibly thankful for our collaboration with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) who have helped make all of this possible, and to our talented team of cast, crew, and imagineers," she added. 

DCL's partnership with STB was first revealed in 2023. Under the deal, the new ship -- unnamed at the time but was eventually dubbed Disney Adventure -- is set to homeport in Singapore for at least five years starting in 2025.

Disney Adventure will sail on three- and four-night voyages from the city-state, with bookings to open later this year, December 10. DCL representatives said prices will be announced in mid-November.

"It will include something for everyone on board," said DCL vice president and regional general manager for Southeast Asia Sarah Fox. "We have also handpicked experiences unique to Asia, some of which are a first for Disney Cruise Line."

Among the unique offerings of Disney Adventure is "Remember," a "musical spectacular" featuring heroes, princesses, and other Disney and Pixar characters.

This will be shown on the ship's own theater along with "Disney Seas the Adventure," a DCL signature show. 

"It's a heartfelt tale of love and longing starring the adorable robot couple from Pixar's 'Wall-E,'" said Jenny Weinbloom, vice president for live entertainment at Disney Signature Experiences. 

Asian offerings, adventure zone

Guests on board the Disney Adventure ship can enjoy dishes inspired by the region, or grab Asian bites and beverages such as bubble tea. 

One of the themed restaurants here is Mike & Sulley's Flavors of Asia -- an elegant take on the Japanese-style eatery featured in Pixar's "Monsters Inc." -- which will offer sushi, sashimi, and Omakase-style dining, among others. 

"We'll continue the rotational dining concept, where guests will visit 7 themed restaurants throughout their cruise, accompanied by a dedicated service team," said DCL senior manager of dining standards and service excellence Daniel Cowan. "All guests are guaranteed a seat and dining time without the need to queue." 

Disney Adventure is also set to be the first cruise ship to offer an adventure zone at sea. Located at the sundeck, Marvel Landing is one of the 7 themed zones on board and will include a 250-meter-long roller coaster, toy cars on an oversized track designed after "Ant-Man and the Wasp," and a rotating ride inspired by "Guardians of the Galaxy."

The rest of the themed zones at Disney Adventure include the Disney Imagination Garden, a central hub with topiaries, castle art pieces, and an open-air performance venue; Toy Story Place, an outdoor area on the upper deck with a large family pool and other water features for families with kids; San Fransokyo Street, a family entertainment area with gaming experiences inspired by "Big Hero 6"; Town Square, which celebrates Disney royals through its three decks of restaurants, shops, and cafes; Disney Discovery Reef, with dining experiences inspired by aquatic characters from "Little Mermaid" and "Finding Nemo"; and Wayfinder Bay, a pool area at the back of the ship that reflects Moana's story.

Different traveler types

DCL has also taken into account different traveler types in its room options which will offer views of the sea, the Disney Imagination Garden, or the Disney Discovery Reef.

Aside from the standard couple and family rooms with our without verandas, Disney Adventure also has accommodations with four single beds for friends traveling together, as well as a menu of complimentary baby and toddler essentials, among others. 

For those who are willing to splurge, there will be two "royal" suites inspired by the popular movie series "Frozen."

"Regardless of how you want to travel or who you want to travel with, you're going to find that perfect choice that fits your needs," said DCL hotel director Lisa Picket.
