Cebu has a new king in the persona of RaÉd Al Zghayér who was recently crowned “Man of the World” Philippines during the 11th Misters of Filipinas pageant night, held at the FilOil Arena in San Juan City last October 10.

The former airline cabin crew was asked to say something about himself related to a quote from the book “Little Women” - “I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.”

He answered, “I can relate so much from this quote during my journey with Misters of Filipinas. I got bashed because I gained weight. I was body-shamed. And also, my dad passed away. So I had a lot of challenges in my life during the competition. However, I told myself I need to be strong, face the challenges and keep going. Because in life, if you keep going we can achieve what we want in our lives.”

“I gained weight during the screening (of Misters of Filipinas). People were bashing me, I look ugly, I look fat, I look like a whale. It went trending with a lot of views. It broke my heart a bit. However, I didn’t stop there. I told myself I’m gonna work harder to push it, to achieve and prove to myself that I can do better,” said RaÉd.

RaÉd previously joined the Suprastar Search under the Mister Supranational brand and he represented Jordan then and won second runner up.
