MANILA - "I couldn't stop laughing," said model-host Georgina Wilson, as she recalled her British husband Arthur Burnand's marriage proposal in an interview with local lifestyle magazine Preview.

The 30-year-old Wilson said she was taking photos of swans in Burnand's hometown of Winchester when her businessman-boyfriend surprised her by getting down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage.

"He was telling me about how much he loves me and how he wants to spend the rest of his life with me. He would always say that –and there I was, just taking selfies with cows the whole time!" she shared in the cover story for the magazine's May 2016 issue.

"I was so oblivious about how it all happened... He stopped crying when he saw me laughing."

Wilson and Burnand got married at St. Peter's Parish in England on April 30. According to Wilson, she had known Burnand for eight years prior to tying the knot and that their family are friends.

"I met him initially at a friend's wedding in Bangkok. We were even supposed to be set up back then, but I was in a relationship at the time," admitted Wilson, who dated Filipino actor Richard Gutierrez and model Borgy Manotoc, the son of Ilocos governor Imee Marcos.

In 2015, Wilson again met Burnand during her trip to Australia. "When I was with him, I was like, 'Oh my God, this is the guy I am going to marry!' He was completely oblivious, but my getting to that realization felt like a physical reaction. A panic attack! He had no idea," Wilson said.

The former "Asia's Next Top Model" host then shared how her long-distance relationship with Burnand changed her life. Burnand works for the Swire Group and handles the company's businesses out of Hong Kong and Shanghai.

"Before I was such as workaholic, but when he came in, he became my priority," Wilson said. "I'm not going to work during the weekend --wherever I am in the world-- and spend it with him. The travel is exhausting but there is that effort. With him, I find balance."

She explained: "I'm happy when I'm with him, but also happy when I'm not with him. I'm happy when I'm doing my own thing because he is supportive and empowering. It's a relationship that allows us to grow together without losing ourselves."

Wilson said that she was looking forward to raising children with Burnand. "It's gonna be so much more fun, because I have a partner. I cannot wait to see the world with him and meet our children."
