MANILA – After Catriona Gray, the viral #AsSheIs campaign has reached another Filipina Miss Universe titleholder.

Pia Wurtzbach was challenged by Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa to show her “unfiltered” self on Instagram to promote body positivity.

She went on to nominate her successor, Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere of France, and Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados.

“Every day, we all struggle to be comfortable with our imperfections. But today, I’m taking this picture to say hello to me. Just me. No makeup. No glam team. No styling. And I’m happy with what I see,” Wurtzbach said.

“Life’s too short to be unkind to yourself,” the Miss Universe 2015 titleholder added. “So treat your face and your body as an instrument, not an ornament. An instrument to inspire, uplift, and encourage yourself and others to need it.”

Last week, Gray shared a photo of her without makeup as part of the #AsSheIs campaign, tagging her fellow Filipina beauty queen friends Nicole Cordoves and Sandra Lemonon so they can continue the challenge.

In her post on Instagram, the reigning Miss Universe opened up about embracing her insecurities. “I too have days where I don’t feel confident, or my insecurities are louder... but that's okay. Loving yourself as you are is a journey, but it's a journey worth taking,” she said.
