‘Love The Philippines’ campaign, isinulong sa World Travel Market sa London

LONDON - Sa muling partisipasyon ng Pilipinas sa prestihiyosong World Travel Market (WTM) ngayong taon, kasama sa delegasyon ng bansa ang 28 private tourism stakeholders at ilang opisyal ng gobyerno sa pangunguna ni Tourism Chief Christina Garcia Frasco.

Layunin pa rin na muling ipakilala ang sektor ng turismo sa global market sa ilalim ng bagong slogan: Love the Philippines. Sa kabila ng naging isyu kaugnay ng Love The Philippines campaign, naniniwala ang Department of Tourism (DOT) na maisusulong nito ang Pilipinas bilang tourism powerhouse of Asia.

Sa panayam ni ABS-CBN Europe, Middle East and Africa News Bureau Chief Rose Eclarinal, inihayag ni Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco ang mas pinaigting na kampanya ng kanilang kagawaran.

“We are reintroducing the Philippines to the world. First on the strength of our award-winning beaches, dive sites, and other nature-based destinations, and also on the strength of the Filipino identity, which is very well seen in our heritage, our history, in our culture, and the story of the Filipinos,” sabi ni Sec. Christina Frasco, Department of Tourism (DOT).

Inilunsad na rin sa pangunguna ng Tourism Promotions Board, ang bagong Travel Philippines app, kung saan maaaring ma-access ang iba't ibang travel guides at impormasyon sa tourist attractions at experience na hain ng mga rehiyon ng Pilipinas.

Tiwala naman si Ambassador Teodoro Locsin, Jr. na mas mahuhumaling ang mga turistang galing ng UK at iba pang bansa, na bumisita sa Pilipinas.

“Your experience is guaranteed because only the best-accredited tourist resorts will be there. First, look at what’s on offer on the app, then you know you’ll have a great experience, absolutely no regrets or qualifications,” sabi ni Locsin. Nakatuon din ang DOT sa pagpapakilala at pagpapalakas ng iba pang tourist destination.

“Mas marami ng flights to Camiguin may direct na from Manila and of course, may Cebu everyday. Sa sea transportation naman, marami nang improvement sa port facilities, airport facilities, and then more pa to come. PPA for example, in-annouce na nga nila, na they will be developing yung isang port namin for cruise ship arrivals,” sabi ni Gov. Xavier Jesus Romualdo, Camiguin.

Dumalo rin si Frasco sa Minister’s Summit ng WTM, kung saan inilahad niya ang mga inisyatibo ng gobyerno para isulong ang tourism education. Kumpiyansa naman ang kalihim na sa mas pinaigting nilang kampanya, maaabot o malalampasan pa ng ahensiya ang kanilang target na 4.8 million international arrivals ngayong taon.

Base sa pinakahuling datos, umabot na sa 4.4 million ang turistang dumayo sa bansa o 93.73% ng kanilang target. Higit 180 bansa at halos 4,000 exhibitors ang lumahok sa WTM 2023, na nagsimula Lunes hanggang Miyerkules. Ito ang tinaguriang ‘World’s most influential travel and tourism event.’
