MANILA - Traffic usually brings out the worst in a person. But this time, motorists and the public were treated to a different kind of traffic -- one that was caused by a surprise marriage proposal.

John Khyan Nazaredo Villanueva shared a video of the wedding proposal of his uncle, Mikki, to his girlfriend, Cheann, last October 29 in the middle of a busy intersection of Calamba, Laguna.

In his Facebook post which has since gone viral, Villanueva apologized for any inconvenience caused by the proposal to motorists.

He also shared the story behind the proposal.

"Uuwi kasi si girl ng October 28 sa Pilipinas galing Singapore. At naramdaman ni boy na 'this is the right time,'" he said. "So dahil nga kasali siya sa isang rider's club which is FZOL (FZ Owners Laguna), humingi siya ng advice sa mga kagrupo kung anong pwedeng gawin. Hanggang sa nabuo itong concept na 'to sa tulong ni Sir Mags, na member ng grupo."

(Cheann is set to return home on October 28 from Singapore, and my uncle felt that this is the right time. He was part of a rider's club so he sought advice from some of the group members. Eventually, they came up with this concept for a marriage proposal with help from Sir Mags, who is part of the group.)

Villanueva said his uncle's group then requested for a permit from the Mayor's office to use the intersection for a few minutes, and it was granted to them.

"Hanggang sa pati 'yung mga traffic enforcers e nagbigay din ng idea para mas maging maganda ang proposal (Even the traffic enforcers shared their ideas for the proposal)," he wrote.

Of course, she said yes. #MayForeverSaTraffic
