MANILA – Armed with the passion to raise awareness of breast cancer, members and supporters of I Can Serve Foundation gathered at Raffles Hotel Makati on Sunday for the annual Fashion Can Serve show.

This year’s Fashion Can Serve show had the theme “Why We Fight” and featured top local couturiers JC Buendia, Ito Curata, Cary Santiago, Vania Romoff, Mia Arcenas, and Rosenthal Tee, as well as their muses.

Some of the celebrities who were spotted on the runway include Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Miss Universe 1973 Margie Moran, Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz, actresses Solenn Heussaff and Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2017 Katarina Rodriguez, actor Derek Ramsay, and “Asia’s Next Top Model” winner Maureen Wroblewitz.

“I am joining this show since cancer survivors are so close to my heart. I have a sister who is a cancer survivor. It gives me great joy lending my time and dresses to this worthy cause,” Santiago said.

Romoff, for her part, said: “I know of a few women who have been affected or have had loved ones affected by breast cancer. It is something that needs to be fought and this is my way of helping support the fight against it.”

Organizers aim to deliver the message that there is life after cancer, with survivors and their children and grandchildren joining the fashion show.

I Can Serve Foundation also emphasized the need for government support for cancer patients, particularly through the proposed Cancer Control Act authored by Senator Sonny Angara.
