Elmo, the furry red monster of the popular children's educational show "Sesame Street," appeared on ANC's "Early Edition" on Monday to help spread kidness.

Elmo is in the country to promote the "Spread Kindness, Share The Laughter," the year-long global media campaign of "Sesame Street," which focuses on teaching kindness.

As part of the campaign, several kindness-themed episodes will be shown online.

"It's very important to be kind to people, and to treat people the way you want to be treated," Elmo said.

"You can spread kindness everyday by doing little things. You can give somebody a hug or you can help somebody when they need help. It's just the little things everyday," added Elmo, who also learned how to say Filipino word "salamat po," which means thank you.
