Another Filipina superhero is entering the Marvel Comics universe.

As revealed this Friday, this "awesome" new character will make her debut in a comic coming out this September.

Greg Pak, who co-created Wave, the water manipulator from Cebu who helped defend the Philippines from invading flame monsters in the comic book series "War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas" released last May, is again involved in the project.

He'll be introducing the new Pinay superhero with award-winning writer Alyssa Wong and artist Pop Mhan.

Wong is half-Filipina and has been recently tasked by Marvel Comics to write the backstory for Wave. She is mainly a science-fiction writer who has won an Nebula Award, a World Fantasy Award, and a Locus Award for her works.

Pak provided no further details on the character, other than saying that her first appearance will be on issue #3 of "Aero."
