MANILA – Model Joey Mead opened up about her marriage to businessman and car enthusiast Ian King, who recently came out as a transwoman, in an interview with a local magazine.

Mead gave an exclusive 16-page tell-all to Rogue Magazine, where she appears as its latest cover girl.

“It’s gonna be a roller coaster, but I’m gonna ride it until the wheels fall off – because I’ve fought hard for our love,” she was quoted as saying.

King, who now goes by the name Angelina Mead King, made her first media appearance during a launch event by his hotel chain, Victoria Court.

She gamely talked to the media about Victoria Court’s newest suite which is inspired by “Star Wars,” but declined to answer personal questions.

In an interview with The Philippine Star early this month, Mead said she fully supports King’s decision to come out as a trans woman.

“What is normal these days? This is the new normal and everyone is taking it very well, so it’s a perfect time for Ian to come out,” she said.

The two got married in November 2011.
