MANILA -- Wolfgang's Steakhouse in Resorts World Manila had a festive re-opening in support of Newport Mall at the Resorts World Manila complex in Pasay City after a weeks-long lockdown due to the attack last June 2.

A total of 37 guests and employees died in the incident, while the lone gunman killed himself. The mall had to close for almost two weeks to give way to minor reconstruction and upgrading of security facilities.

“Lots of regular guests have been looking for their aged steaks when we were closed for two weeks,” said Excello Restaurant Management Group partner Marvin Agustin.

The actor was joined by his partners Raymund Magdaluyo and Laina Bolinas to announce that it was business as usual again at Wolfgang's Steakhouse

The restaurant began serving guests as soon as the Newport Mall re-opened last June 15.

Operations personnel from Resorts World Manila said the complex has taken measures to improve security including hiring a security consultant to review and enforce measures. Loyal Newport Mall visitors can also enjoy discounted cinema tickets as well as events in the atrium that will be open to all.

As the first franchise in Asia of the famed New York restaurant, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse was one of the pioneers in the introducing the lusciousness of dry-aged beef in Manila. Using a state-of-the-art dry-aging room, prime meats are dry-aged for at least 28 days for unmistakable dry-aged concentrated beef flavor.

The Resorts World Branch is the first in Asia and its success has paved the way for the opening of Wolfgang’s Steakhouses in Hong Kong and Singapore

As the go-to place for power lunches and celebratory diners, Wolfgang’s is banking on its reputation as one of the best steakhouses in Manila to bring back diners to Resorts World Manila.

Meanwhile, the Excello Restaurant Management Group also took the opportunity to announce its expansion plans for Wolfgang Steakhouse, which is opening two new branches in Bonifacio Global City and The Podium later this year.

Gen Korean BBQ, a concept that Excello is bringing in from the United States, will be opening at SM by The Bay in the Mall of Asia complex this month.
