MANILA – Just in time for the rainy season, Irish company All Weather Industries (AWI) brought its Dam Easy flood barriers to the Philippines through a partnership with Scottsdale Corp.
MANILA – Just in time for the rainy season, Irish company All Weather Industries (AWI) brought its Dam Easy flood barriers to the Philippines through a partnership with Scottsdale Corp.
First launched in Ireland in 2017, Dam Easy is described by AWI chief executive officer and co-founder Brian Mooney as “an off-the-shelf, easy-to-install quality flood protection barrier.”

It is made of recyclable ABS plastic and can be installed in as quickly as four minutes, without the need for tools or sealant.

“Ireland is prone to floods just as neighboring countries in Europe also are. The product is designed to help householders and is better than the traditional sandbag method of preventing floods,” added Dam Easy Asia Pacific President Greg Shenton.

Scottsdale president Cheriza Manalang, for her part, said she decided to bring Dam Easy to the Philippines following her own experience with flooding at home.

“Several years ago, during heavy rains that flooded Metro Manila, our whole house in Taytay was under water. Until then, I thought our place was flood-free and then it happened. Then last year, my husband and I came across a viral video in Facebook which was about Dam Easy Flood Barrier,” she said.
