MANILA – Following her stint on the ABS-CBN reality show “Pinoy Big Brother,” Kristine Hammond tried her luck anew -- this time in the world of beauty pageants.

Based on her latest social media posts, her persistence definitely paid off.

One week ago, Hammond proudly shared her photo wearing six sashes, each representing the awards she received in the recently concluded Miss Nation Queen Philippines.

Among the titles she bagged were the Miss Nation Queen NCR, Best in Gown, Miss Dream Girl of the Nation, Miss Fashion Girl of the Nation, Miss Worker Heroes of the Nation and Best in National Costume first runner-up.

“I really love trying new things. I guess joining pageants is one thing that I will truly enjoy,” she wrote in one of her posts.

According to its official website, Miss Nation Queen Philippines is the “newest formed organization in the field of beauty pageants in the Philippines with motivation and inspiration.” The pageant was organized in honor of “all Filipino workers around the nations of the world.”

Before she joined “PBB,” netizens tagged Hammond as the "Yakult Girl" after her photo selling the health drink taken at a public market in Talisay, Batangas went viral.

Hammond grew up in a broken family. Her British father left her at an early age, and her mother has since been striving to have her finish her education.
