MANILA - The Darna fever is on. And it gets hotter as artists depict the beautiful Liza Soberano in a superhero costume.

Following Star Cinema's unveiling of the new Darna, netizens have expressed mixed reactions on social media. Those with artistic capabilities, however, chose to express their views through art.

Upon searching #Darna on Instagram, ABS-CBN News found some of the most spectacular artworks that wowed netizens:

A post shared by Vincent Aseo (@vincentaseo) on

Created by professional illustrator and designer Vincent Aseo, this Darna artwork has been going viral in social media, with 2,100 reactions and 800 shares.

According to Aseo, he created this poster to be "symbolic of the modern Darna, focusing on Liza's beauty and character instead of the usual sexy route."

He added that this interpretation represents an empowered and strong archetype of the Pinay superhero.

Self-proclaimed movie fanatic Edgar Torres Jr. also created his own Darna poster, which he said depicts Soberano as the Darna of the modern generation. His artwork wowed many Facebook users.

Corporate graphic artist Carl Corilla, meanwhile, created a comical Darna artwork.

He was inspired by the idea of seeing Soberano on comics. "I depicted her as how Darna should look -- someone physically strong yet beautiful and inspiring," he added.

Art fanatic Jay Torrijos, on the other hand, shared the artwork of Manila-based illustrator Miguel Mercado which dates back in 2016.

"Who knew kay Liza mapupunta ang distinction na next #Darna?" quipped Torrijos.
