MANILA -- Heads up, clubbing regulars: You have a chance to dance your socks off from your homes this weekend.

This as Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has partnered with the city-state's popular nightclub Zouk for a series of free virtual parties -- complete with augmented reality filters and 3D virtual backgrounds -- for audiences around the world.

In a statement, organizers said "Zouk Phuturescapes" will kick off on May 29 in the United States, followed by parties in the rest of Asia and Australia on May 30, and in the United Kingdom on May 31.

Up to 1,000 guests may register on Zoom, with the events to be also streamed on the Facebook and YouTube pages of STB and Zouk Singapore.

Performers include American DJ Diplo, British DJ Christina Novelli, Zouk's resident DJs LeNERD and Che’Molly, and Singapore-based talents DJ KoFlow, rapper Yung Raja, and singer-songwriter Jasmine Sokko.

"We aspire to take the concept of virtual parties to the next level through a mix of content curation, immersive technology, audience engagement, and innovative marketing," said STB assistant chief
executive (marketing group) Lynette Pang.

She added that with the help of Zouk, they are able to "showcase the best of Singapore's entertainment and nightlife, and shine the spotlight on homegrown talents."

Zouk group CEO Andrew Li, for his part, said: "The support of the Singapore Tourism Board has provided us with the opportunity to further elevate our virtual parties to showcase Singapore's entertainment and nightlife scene to a global audience."

"Through 'Phuturescapes,' we hope to unite our global community on a safe and readily accessible platform for all to tune in, dance along together, engage with one another, and collectively look forward to the day guests from around the world can be welcomed into the club again."
