MANILA – Catriona Gray assured her supporters that she is doing her part in preparing for the upcoming Miss Universe pageant.

This, after one Instagram user called her out for supposedly not focusing on her training for the international competition.

The netizen pointed out that Gray’s Instagram posts lately consisted mostly of travel and partnership photos, and nothing that would suggest that she is preparing for Miss Universe.

“Don’t forget na the stage of Miss Universe this year is a long catwalk… so sana don’t forget your training like your body core and edges. Wag masyadong kumpyansa. Makakapaghintay naman ang partnerships at dadami pa ng bongga if ikaw mananalo as Miss Universe 2018,” the netizen told Gray.

As expected, Gray responded in a classy manner, saying she hasn’t forgotten about her responsibilities.

“Yes, I am preparing for Miss Universe, but first and foremost I am Miss Universe Philippines 2018 and that in itself comes with duties and responsibilities,” Gray began.

“I post beautiful scenes of travel cause I love to share that with you all, but behind that – what you all don’t see – is me working. I was in El Nido for work, as well as Masungi GeoReserve and all my other provincial trips,” she added.

Gray then reminded the Instagram user never to base judgments on social media, noting that Instagram “is a curated feed of selected moments, not a tell-all reflection of reality.”

A past winner of Miss World-Philippines in 2016, Gray is competing in her second international pageant as a "much more matured woman, with a lot more drive."

"I'm really hungry for this, and I know the responsibilities that come with it, having worked with my charities before," she previously told ABS-CBN News.
