MANILA – Pia Wurtzbach has been asked to react to the recent revelation of her Miss Universe 2015 batchmate and former roommate, Olivia Jordan – more specifically, that she was molested as a child and raped as a teenager.

The two became close friends after competing in Miss Universe 2015. Wurtzbach won the title for the Philippines, while Jordan as Miss USA finished second runner-up.

In an interview published on Female Network, Wurtzbach said she had no idea that Jordan went through such an ordeal.

“She never really spoke about it during her whole pageant life, 'di niya ever shinare ‘yan, so talagang nakakagulat,” she said.

Wurtzbach continued: “And it really… You kind of realize that it can happen to anyone. It can happen to anybody. Someone like Olivia who I thought grew up like, parang perfect… Hindi mo alam ‘yung mga pinagdadaanan ng mga tao… You could be facing the most popular celebrity, sobrang ganda, parang walang problema, pero ‘yon pala, meron din siyang pinagdaanan.”

Early this month, Wurtzbach was reunited with Jordan as they received an award from the cleft charity Smile Train on behalf of Miss Universe Organization president Paula Shugart.

On Instagram, the Filipina beauty queen hinted that she will see the Miss USA 2015 titleholder again in Los Angeles “very soon.”

For her part, Jordan told Wurtzbach: “There’s never enough time together nor enough words… but I hope you know how grateful I am to know you, P.”
