MANILA -- Want to improve your kid's innate artistic talents? Here are some workshops that will keep them busy during summer break.

1. PETA

When: April 17 to May 28

Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) is holding a series of workshops for adults, children, and teens starting April 17.

PETA’s summer courses include Children's Theater 1 (for ages 6-9), Children's Theater 2 (ages 9-12), Teen Theater (for ages 13-16), and Theater Arts (for ages 17 and up), while the advanced courses for ages 17 and up are Basic Acting and Creative Musical Theater.

2. Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group

When: April 24 to May 20

For the first time ever, Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group, which was behind such productions as "Fun Home" starring Lea Salonga, and "Jersey Boys," will be holding a musical theater workshop this summer.

Atlantis regulars Steven Conde, Mikkie Bradshaw-Volante, Nel Gomez and Bibo Reyes will led the acting, singing and dancing classes needed for a career in musical theater.

The workshop offers classes for kids (7-12 years old) and teens (13-18 years old).

Classes will be held from Mondays through Fridays at the Philippine Opera Haus on Bautista Street, Makati, while the recitals will be held at the Maybank Performing Arts Theater in Bonifacio Global City.

3. Red Apron Cooking Academy

At Red Apron Cooking Academy, kids will not only learn how to cook and bake but they will also learn math skills, science, geography, art, health, history and social skills.

Its licensed teacher chef will guide each student every step of the way. Kids also get to take home their cooked dishes along with their hat, red apron, recipes and certificate of completion.

4. Power Mac Center​

When: April 17 to May 26​

Now on its 10th year, Power Mac Center​'s latest series of summer workshops is once again inviting kids aged 9-13 to participate.

These workshops will be held at Greenbelt and Trinoma, with a total of five sessions each course. It will comprise a mixture of lectures, demonstrations, guided hands-on training sessions, and project creation.

Digital courses include Game Design and Development, 3D Architecture Design, Graphic Design and Photo Editing, Cartooning and Animation, and Stop Motion Animation and Digital Storytelling, while non-digital courses include cooking, drawing and painting.

5. Ballet Philippines

When: April 4 to May 31

Want to be the next primera ballerina? Enroll at Ballet Philippines' summer workshops.

Geared towards holistic learning, the workshop will include classes in classical ballet, modern dance, jazz, hip hop, and even lectures.

Students will be required to attend a minimum of 3 classes a week (for pre-ballet and elementary ballet students) to as much as 5 classes a week, including workshop rehearsals for its culminating performances at the CCP Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo on May 20 and 21.

Summer classes will also be held in the newly opened BP Dance School branches in Greenhills Theatre Mall and Victoria Sports, Quezon City. Classes start on April 4 and end on May 31.

The Ballet Philippines Dance School is located at the following venues: Cultural Center of the Philippines, SM Aura Premier, Greenhills Theatre Mall, and Victoria Sports.

6. Tanghalang Pilipino

When: April to May

This summer, Tanghalang Pilipino is launching Katutubong Pananaw Workshop in the Arts (KAPWA) aimed at "discovering and honing artistic potentials, and in nurturing national consciousness, all towards the development of good human beings and a humane society."

National Artists, academic scholars and professors, indigenous and traditional artists, and TP's Actors Company will be facilitating various workshops in different parts of the country. There will be acting, producing, and directing classes for kids, teens, and adults.

7. Star Magic

Star Magic, the home of the country's brightest stars, is once again holding a series of workshops this summer for aspiring artists.

There will be an acting workshop for kids, teens, and adults. This includes introductory classes to advanced and master classes.

There will also be voice workshops for aspiring singers, and dance sessions for the next dance divas.

Registration will begin on April 22 at ABS-CBN's Audience Entrance along Eugenio Lopez Drive. The gate is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

8. Alaska Basketball Powercamp 2017

When: April 19 to June 11

Alaska Milk is once again holding its annual basketball summer camp to help aspiring PBA stars prepare for the hard court.

A team of coaches lead by Philippine Basketball Association legend and Alaska Aces assistant coach Jeffrey Cariaso.

The camp is open to all ages five to 18 years old and will be held from 8 to 11 am at Ateneo de Manila University on April 19, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30 May 3 and 6; Iñigos Sport Complex, Lucena on April 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27; and PMA, Baguio City on June 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11.

Other camps will be held at Columban College, Barreto, Subic on April 17, 18, 20 and 21; Tay Tung High School, Bacolod on April 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24 & 25 and USJR, Basak, Cebu on May 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13 and 15 (9 am to 12 pm).

Registration fee is P4,000 for Manila and P2,500 for provinces. Top jersey is included in the fee.

9. Milo Summer Sports Clinics

When: April to June

This annual program by Milo invites aspiring athletes from different sports to hone their skills with some of the country's best trainers and coaches.

10. The Learning Library

Do you want your kids to improve his reading skills? Take him to The Learning Library's summer workshops.

For only P5,000 per run, these workshops will focus on reading comprehension, writing, public speaking, and Filipino for children ages 3 to 16.

Workshops will be held at The Learning Library's branches at Loyola Heights, Makati, Greenmeadows, New Manila, West Avenue, San Juan, Alabang, and Congressional Avenue.
