It was just last month when she turned to her fans for support after learning that she has skin cancer.

More than the overwhelming response, Dayanara Torres, who won the Miss Universe title in 1993, received positive news from her doctors on Friday to lift her spirits up.

She shared on Instagram that her test results indicated that her cancer is not spreading and has not reached any of her vital organs.

"I'm so happy to give you some good news," she wrote, adding that she was appreciative of the support.

She also asked her followers to keep praying for her as she is set to undergo her first radiation treatment.

"Keep praying, keep having me in your prayers. I am forever grateful to all of you and the mountains you all are being able to move for me. With all of my heart & soul, thank you!"

It was early February when Torres revealed that she has been diagnosed with skin cancer, wherein she said that she is putting "everything in God's hands."

It came two years after she visited the Philippines, where she had a career in showbiz following her Miss Universe win.

The last time she was in the country was in 2017, when she joined the panel of judges for the Miss Universe pageant.
