MANILA -- A total of 13 properties in the Philippines have been recognized by Forbes Travel Guide, a global rating system for luxury hotels, spas, and restaurants.

Marco Polo Ortigas Manila, Nuwa Manila, The Peninsula Manila, and Sky Tower at Solaire Resort and Casino were given a five-star rating for being "outstanding, often iconic properties with virtually flawless service and amazing facilities."

With the announcement, The Peninsula Hotels became the first and only hotel brand to achieve five-star status in all 10 of its properties.

Fairmont Makati, Hyatt Regency City of Dreams Manila, Nobu Hotel Manila, Nuwa Spa Manila, Raffles Makati, and Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila received four stars for "offering high levels of service and quality of facility to match."

Conrad Manila, Makati Shangri-La Manila, and Pan Pacific Manila, meanwhile, were given a "recommended" rating for having "consistently good service and facilities."

On its website, Forbes Travel Guide said it evaluates properties "based on up to 900 objective criteria," with their hotel stays spanning a minimum of two nights.
