MANILA – Miss Universe 2016 judge Dayanara Torres will be returning to the “ASAP” stage this coming Sunday.

Torres is also one of the original hosts of the ABS-CBN variety show along with Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Pops Fernandez and Ariel Rivera, and was once dubbed as the Philippines’ “Dancing Queen.”

She said returning to ABS-CBN brings back a lot of memories for her. “Meeting so many people that I haven’t seen in so many years, it’s incredible. Don’t forget to watch ‘ASAP’ this Sunday. A lot of things are happening and surprises too,” she told ABS-CBN News’ Jeff Fernando in an interview.

The Puerto Rican beauty queen also said she is open to doing a movie project again in the Philippines. Her last Filipino film was "Type Kita Walang Kokontra," which was released in 1999.

“I would love to. Like I said, my kids are now older so I can travel a little more. Absolutely, I would love to,” she said.

Asked who she wants to work with in case a movie pushes through, Torres said: “I’ve been talking to a lot of people. They are giving me a few ideas and stuff but as of now, no one in particular. We’ll decide later.”

Torres was crowned Miss Universe in 1993. She visited the Philippines in 1994 to crown her successor in the international beauty contest.

She then went on to become a celebrity in the country, starring in movies with Aga Muhlach and Cesar Montano, among others.

Now that she is back, Torres said: “Super mas masaya ako to be back here in the Philippines. It’s my second home. I’m able to enjoy this country that I love so much. Thank you for embracing me again as your own like you’ve always done.”

Aside from returning to “ASAP,” Torres will also appear in various ABS-CBN shows.
