After being gone for weeks to do a series of shows in the United States, Vice Ganda finally made a comeback on “It’s Showtime on October 9 Tuesday, much to the surprise and delight of everyone. But she was not alone as she arrived with a very cutesy and very fuzzy companion – her “baby,” whom she introduced as “Zimomo,” which is part of the highly popular toy line called Labubu dolls.

As she probably enkindled the curiosity of the madlang people who weren’t familiar with them yet, the Unkabogable Star uploaded a new vlog on her official YouTube channel later that day wherein she did an unboxing of the two Labubu doll collections that she had purchased during her work trip in the US and subsequently flaunted everything that she got.

But prior to opening the packages that contained her precious new babies, Vice imparted a few fun facts about Labubu dolls first. According to her, these are “elf characters living in the Nordic forest inspired by Nordic fairytale,” with the term “Nordic” relating to Scandinavia, Finland, and Iceland. It apparently started to grow famous after BLACKPINK member Lisa Manoban posted on Instagram stories photos of herself hugging a giant Labubu plushie and flexing a miniature version of the doll as a bag charm.

She added that Labubu dolls were initially introduced in 2015 by Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung through the “The Monsters” toy series that he created, but it was only in 2023 when the Labubu charms were released. There are actually four monster tribes, namely Zimomo, Tycoco, Spooky & Pato, and the most popular of them all, the Labubu, while the Labubu charms have two variants, namely “Exciting Macarons” and “Have A Seat”.

Since the charms were contained in blind boxes, Vice actually didn’t have any inkling which characters she was about to unbox, making the process extra exciting.

The first box she opened was the “Exciting Macarons” collection, in which she got the characters “Sea Salt Coconut”, “Toffee”, “Sesame Bean”, “Soymilk”, “Green Grape”, and “Lychee Berry.” While in the second box, which was the “Have A Seat” collection, she got “Baba”, “Dada”, “Hehe”, “Sisi”, “Ququ”, and “Zizi.”

Even though she got duplicates of the pieces she already had and wasn’t able to secure the secret characters “Chestnut Cocoa” and “Duo Duo,” Vice was still ecstatic about her stash nonetheless. She immediately attached each set to her two Birkin bags – the “Exciting Macarons” collection to her pink bag, while the “Have A Seat” collection to her yellow bag – and giddily flaunted them.

The Unkabogable Star showed, as well, her two bag charms from the “Fall in Wild” collection, one of which was borrowed by her husband, Ion Perez, and attached to the bag that he used during their most recent trip. She purchased a plushie version of it too.

Aside from the bag charms, she also bought the decorative toy, backpack, and giant plushie versions of her favorite character, “Zimomo,” the leader of the Zimomo tribe. Even though bringing the huge Zimomo stuffed toy from the US to the Philippines caused him quite a headache, it was still worth it as she adored it so much!

Her Zimomo plushie also reminded her of her new pet dog, a giant poodle given to her by her friends Angel Locsin and Neil Arce as a gift after her beloved Chow Chow “Chip In” passed on last August. Thus, it sparked an idea in her to name it Zimomo.

Ito po ‘yong mga bagong dumadagdag sa kaligayahan ng buhay ko, ang aking mga Labubu babies. Sana naaliw po kayo na pinakilala ko sila sa inyo. Sana natuwa kayo, sana na-cute-an kayo sa kanila. So, makikita n’yo sila na bibitbitin ko kung saan n’yo man ako makikita. Kahit sa TV bibitbitin ko sila,” Vice related as she capped off the video.

Then she continued, “Kaya ko shinare sa inyo kasi napapasaya nila ako. Nagbibigay sila ng good vibes sa akin. Gusto ko, kahit sa YouTube ko lang n’yo sila makita, e makakuha kayo ng GV from them.”

Watch out for the delightful appearances of the Unkabogable Star’s very cutesy Labubu babies on It’s Showtime,” Mondays to Saturdays at noontime, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, GTV, and GMA 7.
