Ever since it was launched in December 2023, “Expecially For You” has arguably become one of the well-loved segments of It’s Showtime. While we look forward to seeing who will be the contestants in each episode and hearing how their love stories fared, we also anticipate the funny interactions between them and the hosts, as well as the insightful side comments and advice of the hosts.

And one of the hosts whose reactions we’ve been waiting to witness is Kim Chiu, who astonished us with her amusing hugots and quips and insightful views during the segment. Let’s revisit some of those moments in this episode of Kapamilya Update.

As the hosts noticed that Kim drank more of the juice that was served to those who were watching on the sideline, Vice teasingly asked her when she will participate in the segment. As everyone acted frenzy including her, Vice clarified that what she meant was when she’s going to join them as a host. Jhong Hilario continued to poke fun at her by pretending to welcome an unexpected guest.

In another episode, the Unkabogable Star couldn’t help but notice Kim’s interesting reaction upon hearing the word “traitor” from her and one of the searchers. She then got touched when told by Vice, whom she fondly calls “Mama,” how beautiful she is and how much she deserves to be loved.

“Maganda ka, mabuti kang tao, maganda ang mukha mo, maganda ang puso mo. You deserve the best, you deserve love”, he uttered and went on to give her a warm, tight embrace.

As the male searcher in another episode remarked in jest that he would not recommend one of the searchees to his ex-girlfriend because she may not consider getting back to him anymore because the said searchee was too handsome, Kim couldn’t help but strongly comment, “Gano’n talaga, iniwan mo na e! Bakit mo pa babalikan? Dapat hindi mo iniiwan.” She then went on to add, “Akala mo nakaabang lang sa’yo? Hindi gano’n ‘yon!”

Seeing how Kim enjoyed watching her banter and antics with Jhong, Vice jokingly told Kim not to use him in her process of moving on and mending her broken heart. He then shared how the Linlang star is currently winning in life as her blessings have been “siksik, liglig, at umaapaw”.

It seemed that Kim wasn’t able to stop the rush of her feelings as she jokingly rebuked a male searcher for not fighting for his ex when they were still together. Vice felt that, so he gave her a hug and asked her where she was coming from.

The Unkabogable Star once again offered Kim the invitation to take part in “Expecially For You” after she jokingly expressed her desire to replace a female searcher in her seat. This delighted everyone and was met with clamor from the madlang people. When asked who would accompany her in the searchers’ seat, Vice said that her tatay-tatayan in showbiz and Head of Star Magic and TV Production Direk Laurenti Dyogi, who’s also the one behind Pinoy Big Brother, would be a great choice to be safe.

Our beloved Chinita Princess then wasn’t able to contain her emotions when the topic of “acceptance” was tackled in another episode. She stated, “Lahat ng nangyayari sa buhay natin, hindi naman ‘yon by chance or by accident. Lahat ng nangyayari sa buhay natin is written and ginawa na ‘yon bago pa man tayo ipanganak. So, mas madaling tanggapin ang lahat ng bagay.”

She also imparted her opinion with regard to giving second chances to an ex, which is a no-no for her. But, at the same time, she believes that this can change through time and depending on the situation.

And lastly, her much-awaited guesting on the segment was once again brought up, after she seemingly got confused about whether they were still talking about the ex-couple’s love story or it was her whom Vice asked “Sino ba ang nakipaghiwalay?”

Vice then teased that he will no longer have a birthday production once that happens. Kim rode on to that joke by commenting that she wonders who will be the searchees, to which Vice assured her that they will look for men who are high-achievers like her and are not going to be insecure towards her successes.
