Initially, their unexpected romance was a case of “you and me against the world.” with both their parents and even society highly objecting to the wonderful love that they share.However, actor-dancer Bugoy Cariño and volleyball star EJ Laure were able to prove that time and time again, love definitely conquers all. And now, they’re happy and proud parents to their unica hija Scarlet Cariño, who’s one of the cast members of the long-running kiddie gag show Goin’ Bulilit, where Bugoy used to be a part of as well in his child star days.

Apparently, Scarlet is Bugoy’s “mini me,” not only because she’s as adorable as him when they were at the same age, but also because she can dance and act like him, too! And we’re able to see that not just every time she appears on Goin’ Bulilit but also through videos of her that her supportive parents upload on social media.

Apart from dancing together, another activity that they are obviously fond of doing as a family is traveling, as they’re often seen flying to various destinations here and abroad, either for work engagements or just a simple vacation.

Their relationship may not be perfect and absolutely blissful, which is just normal among couples, yet they’re able to get through against all odds. And after years of being in love with each other, Bugoy finally popped the question to EJ during his 21st birthday celebration in September 2023, to which she gladly and wholeheartedly said, “yes!”

Bugoy and EJ are living testaments that nothing would be possible to two people who love each other with all their might. Because of the strong and genuine love that they share, they’re able to overcome all the snide remarks and challenging obstacles that they had to go through. And because of the “never say die” spirit that both of them possess, many people have admired and drawn inspiration from them to keep going as long as you know in yourself that your decision is right.
