Another round of discussions ensued, more about Kyle’s (Kobie Brown) recent whereabouts for their investigation, the updates on the “Lost Beauconeras” case, Lucas’ (JM de Guzman) serious conversation with Erica (Kaila Estrada) about Oslo, and the night before when she had assisted him back to the safe house. Immediately after, Mel (Sue Ramirez) overhears Lucas’ exchange with Erica and opens up about her preparations for her upcoming trial against Anton (Jameson Blake). Lucas listens intently, responding with a question about how she’s been throughout the life-changing events happening around them. Mel frankly admits to being scared and nervous and returns the query back at him, instantly blocking off his evasive response by pointing out his drunken habits that she overheard earlier. She reminds him about her calls on the same night, trying to understand why he’s been with Erica. Softly, Lucas explains that Erica had only assisted him in returning home safely.Brushing off her doubts, Mel proceeds to reassure Lucas that she would always be there for him if he needs someone to lean on. When Lucas mentions his worries of adding to her burden, Mel disagrees, pointing out that Lucas is the only person who she thinks would understand her situation the most. She recalls how Lucas made her feel safe for the first time and how he became someone she could hold onto. Despite their relationship being unclear this time around, she hopes for him to still become her anchor. In a subtle way of opposing, Lucas removes Mel’s hands from his and reiterates how he’s also there for Mel, adding how happy he is that Mel has been going on a path to freedom. In his heart, he also wishes his mother, Dolores (Jennica Garcia), had the same chance. Will Mel and Lucas reignite their connection?
