Kolette Madelo is now navigating a whole new world as a celebrity. But even with all the exciting changes, the “Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11” alum knows she has to stay grounded. As she embraces the big opportunities coming her way, Kolette is making sure to stick to a set of personal rules that keep her focused, and, as always, true to herself.

Let’s start with her rules on curfew. Even though Kolette currently lives independently, she still makes it a point to set limits for herself, especially since her parents aren’t around to do it for her. One major reason is that she has a “baby” waiting for her at home—her fur baby, Enoki the cat—and being a responsible fur mom, she often feels guilty leaving the cat alone for too long. “Ayaw ko siyang iwan kasi parang nakokonsensiya ako, so pagkatapos ng work, uwi na,” she said. While she does go out to bond and catch up with friends, she tries not to stay out too late, definitely not past 1 AM, especially when she doesn’t have someone to go home with.

She’s just as firm with her personal rules when it comes to shopping. Kolette has a set budget for every shopping trip, and for her, 5,000 pesos is more than enough, as she also wants to invest in clothes she needs for showbiz-related ganaps. As a Gen Z, she's very mindful of money management. Right after receiving her pay, she immediately sets aside funds for essentials like rent, electricity, food, and other bills before even thinking about spending on anything else. Whatever’s left becomes her budget for wants, including shopping. But as she candidly admits, there are times when nothing’s left at all, because the reality of adulting and the weight of bills can be pretty intense.

When it comes to skincare, Kolette has one non-negotiable: she always has to apply toner. It’s her favorite skincare product, and taking care of her skin is one of her key self-care rituals. For her, it’s important to look presentable whenever she goes out. However, when she’s just at home, she doesn’t really bother to dress up or fix herself—comfort comes first.

One of Kolette’s personal goals is to be able to travel more, and when it comes to traveling, she’s not one to follow any strict rule or itinerary. She’s more of a spontaneous traveler, firmly believing in the popular saying, “’Pag pinlano, hindi natutuloy,” which is why she’d rather go with the flow than ‘over plan’ and end up disappointed.

She also doesn’t set rules when it comes to friendships, mainly because she sees herself as someone easy to get along with, someone who can connect with different kinds of people and adjust to any type of vibe. That same relaxed attitude carries over into her views on romantic relationships. She doesn’t like anything too rigid or overly defined. Kolette would love a dynamic where both she and her future partner can just go with the flow and enjoy each other’s company. She wants things to unfold naturally, without needing a long list of do’s and don'ts.

As her career continues to grow, she’s starting to set clear boundaries to protect it. One of the rules she’s recently committed to is keeping her personal life separate from work. When she’s on the job, her full focus is there, and whatever personal matters she has going on should stay out of the workspace so she can give her best without distraction.
