Around a decade after her last appearance in an ABS-CBN Studios program, many were indeed delighted to see veteran actress Chanda Romero again in a Kapamilya show—“FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” to be specific—in which she plays the role of Olivia Guerrero-Torres, a scion of the most influential family in Manila City.

It has already been weeks since her character and her onscreen family were introduced, giving us a glimpse of how their dynamics are, as well as how she fends for herself as her domineering dad, Don Gustavo (Dante Rivero), and her arrogant younger brother, Roberto (Albert Martinez), treat her unfairly and depreciate her capabilities to continue their family’s legacy.

And in this Kapamilya Toplist, we collated the 10 scenes in which we’d witnessed Olivia’s hunger for power and her father’s favor, and her determination to take whatever she believes is rightfully hers, even though she has to do the dirty work.

In one of her initial scenes, Olivia reminded Roberto about their dad’s verbal promise to her to give her the mayoralty seat once his term is over after he confronted her for already starting her premature campaigning activity. Olivia told him that she would never break the election rules because she’s aware of them, as well as warned him that she also knows “how to play dirty really well.”

As she was really certain that she would be the one to replace her brother, Olivia attempted to steal the spotlight from him in one of their family’s outreach activities. She even got really upset when she learned from her sister-in-law, Jackie (Angel Aquino), that her nephew, Miguelito (Jake Cuenca), figured in an altercation with Tanggol (Coco Martin), the sole heir of the Montenegros, who they consider as one of their greatest and most important allies. Apparently, she’s afraid that the Montenegros would retract their support for them, especially on her supposed candidacy as mayor.

With Don Gustavo announcing during the party of the Montenegro that it is going to be Miguelito who will run for mayor while she will run for Congress, Olivia wasn’t able to help herself from expressing her disgust and objection to his decision. Their quarrel continued when they got home, with Olivia conveying how mad she is that they seem to forget all the sacrifices that she had done for their family, which include choosing to set aside her resentment towards them after her husband died because of them.

But instead of simply heeding her dad’s plan and backing down from her goal of becoming the next mayor of Manila City, Olivia is more eager to fight for what she believes is truly hers. She may have humbly talked to Don Gustavo the following day to apologize for how she behaved and disrespected him, yet it was all for show since she seems to have already come up with a wicked plan against her own family.

Olivia’s rage against her father and brother further escalated when Roberto asserted that between her and Miguelito, it’s his son who is the better choice since she carries the last name of her late husband, Joseph, whose involvement with criminal acts had allegedly tainted the reputation of their family and made them almost ruin their political career. It was also revealed during their argument that it was her late husband who they put in charge of their illegal businesses, reminding him not to let the authorities catch him since they couldn’t afford to taint their name.

As she visited the grave of her deceased husband, Olivia lamented on how her brother and father continue to treat them, especially him, not as part of the family but as rubbish or a stain that they’ve been wanting to get rid of. It completely hurts her so much since he did nothing but obey their every command even though his life was put on the line, only to be disregarded by them. Thus, she’s more determined to obtain everything she believes is rightfully hers, particularly the power that she’s been yearning to have.

Will Olivia succeed in her plans against her family? Let’s all find out in the next episodes of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” weeknights at 8 PM, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live (KOL), A2Z, and TV5.
