Some may perceive female friendships as complicated and volatile, but for others, it’s one of the most amazing and beautiful bonds that a woman can have in her life.

These have been depicted in many of the movies and teleseryes we’ve seen through the years, just like in the action-drama series "Incognito" through Max Alvero and Gab Rivera, the characters impressively portrayed by Maris Racal and Kaila Estrada. 

Since it was their first time to meet and to work together, they initially regarded one another as mere comrades who take on various challenging and perilous missions in exchange for whooping cash rewards. But as time went by, being the only two women in the six-unit company of “Kontraks," Gab and Max have grown closer with one another and have apparently established an awesome sisterhood. And we can see it through their scenes together that we collated in this episode of Kapamilya Toplist. 

From simply discussing their missions, there were several instances when the two ladies had the chance to talk about personal stuff, just like when Gab unintentionally confided to Max her long-running discord with her father. As Gab expressed her grudge against her dad for “flexing” his new lover, as if not respecting the memory of her late mother, who have suffered during their marriage, Max gave her advice that was apparently based on her own experience. She told her, “You just have to move on, kahit gaano pa kasakit,” which made Gab ponder. 

After that brief heart-to-heart talk, the two girls were then paired up with one another as the “Kontraks” took on their new mission against drug lord Sameo Patel (Epy Quizon). As they went on with their mission with huge, heavy bags on their shoulders and challenging terrains to trek, the two eased their exhaustion and boredom by chatting about random stuff. And among their topics was Gab’s noticeable closeness with their comrade, Tomas (Anthony Jennings), with Max teasing her about him as she conveyed her disgust towards him.

As they continued their trek with their newfound companion, Champ—a horse—they also got to tackle a bit of Max’s history, through which the viewers were also able to find out that she was actually adopted by her two moms after soldiers rescued her from a military operation when she was still a baby. The death of Max’s fiancé, Sevi (Victor Silayan), during their last mission together was brought up, too, as she told Gab that joining the “Kontraks” was her way of moving on from that heartbreak. Gab turned emotional upon hearing her story, as it reminded her of her mom’s tragic demise due to a car accident.

Their insightful conversation about love continued as Max related how she sometimes yearned to follow Sevi wherever he might be for she had a difficult time moving forward. She then quizzed Gab about her romantic life and her ideal man, to which she responded none, since aside from being traumatized by what happened to her parents, she hasn’t completely built herself up yet. 

Being mission buddies-turned-friends, the two ladies indeed looked out for each other. Max helped Gab out when she accidentally slid on a cliff to retrieve one of their bags that contained some of their “hard-earned” money, as well as let her sleep first as they agreed to take a rest from their tiring trek. Gab, on her part, furiously confronted Aira (Mary Joy Apostol),one of the three hikers they’d met along the way, after she confessed that they found the two femme fatales’ loots and her two guy friends decided to take those with them. Despite what they did, Max and Gab chose to forgive them and even saved them from the ruthless henchmen of Sameo Patel, headed by his most trusted right-hand man Benjie (Jerald Napoles). With their mighty and awesome sharpshooting and gunfighting skills, they were able to kill all the enemies without hurting the civilians.

In the end, the “Kontraks” were able to accomplish their mission, with Gab and Max taking home 4 million pesos each aside from their salary stipulated on their contracts. Their reward might be smaller compared to the amount earned by their other comrades, yet they were still happy and grateful since they gained a couple of things that money can never afford—their memories and conversations together and their friendship.
