Healing words from the Confession Room: Lessons from Kuya and the “PBB Collab” housemates

These quotes from the Confession Room feel like a warm hug.

One of the most beloved spots inside Bahay Ni Kuya is the Confession Room, the ultimate space safe where housemates can be vulnerable with their feelings. It has also heard some of the most inspiring and eye-opening words of wisdom, whether it's Kuya dropping life advice or the housemates sharing their honest thoughts.

In light of the Lenten season, we're listing down the most healing Confession Room realizations and lessons from “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition” that will make you reflect, and maybe tear up a little.

Charlie: I don't know what I did to deserve it, but I'm really grateful."

Charlie Fleming didn’t expect the Kapamilya housemates to choose her to receive the immunity shield from nomination. But when they did, the surprise and gratitude hit her all at once. A tearful Charlie admitted she wasn’t sure what she had done to earn such kindness, but the gesture reminded her to keep striving to be better.

Sometimes, it’s the love and trust we don’t expect that move us the most. In life, there will be moments when people will see the good in you, even when you can’t see it yourself. And when that happens, may it remind you that you are worthy.

Kuya to Kira: "Makapangyarihan ang pag-ibig. Ang paghihiwalay ay hindi laging kabiguan.  At ikaw ang patunay na minsan may pag-ibig na totoo kahit hindi ito nagtapos sa iisang kuwento."

Kira Balinger confessed about her dream of seeing her parents, who are legally married but have been separated for years, living under the same roof once again. She longed for them to be together, but Kuya imparted that their fate is not hers to decide. It hurts, but sometimes relationships go through separations as a way to protect the hearts involved.

Sometimes, true love is letting go when it’s what’s best for everyone’s growth and peace of mind. Love can also mean stepping aside for a better story to unfold. Just like Kira, we may not always control how things end, but we can trust that love’s true power lies in its ability to guide us in unexpected ways.

During his birthday celebration inside the PBB house, Josh Ford found himself weighed down by sadneess. While he's thankful for another year of life, he couldn’t help but revisit the haunting memory of a car accident that killed his close friends and where he was the lone survivor.

Carrying the burden of survivor’s guilt, Josh opened up in the Confession Room about the ache of moving forward from that accident. In response, Kuya gently reminded him that his story is far from over, and that there’s a reason he’s still here.

If you’re also in a season where you’re questioning why things happened the way they did, may this be a reminder that hope patiently waits ahead, even in the middle of pain.

River: "When you choose  your partner everyday, no matter if you fight or you go through the worst of things, you still choose your partner."

This is the kind of love River Joseph learned from his grandparents, who were married for over seventy years and showed him what it means to love someone through every season.

And maybe our biggest takeaway here is that there are still people who believe in love this way. In a world where commitment can feel rare, here's River, the internet's newest favorite green flag, reminding us that real love still exists.

Kuya to Mika: "Huwag kang matakot na magkamali. Dahil sa bawat pagkakamali, ang importante ay kung ano ang natutunan mo. Ang pagkakamali ay hindi nagdidikta kung sino ka."

As a leader in one of the house tasks, Mika Salamanca was so scared to mess up. Because every time she makes a mistake, people would throw her past back at her. But Kuya gently reminded her that mistakes are never the full story of who a person is. You are not your worst moment. And you deserve to be seen for the person you are becoming, not the person you were.

You had to grow up a bit faster... Hindi lahat ng tao magugustuhan tayo, at kahit magustuhan nila tayo, minsan hindi pa rin nila tayo maintindihan."

This was Kuya’s to Brent Manalo, who opened up about growing up without his parents around. Raised mostly by nannies, he quickly learned to be independent. He's used to carrying his emotions in silence, choosing not to burden anyone, not even his family. In high school, he got caught up in a cheating issue, which he didn't actually get through, but he still became the target of judgment. He never told his parents, as he didn’t want to add to their worries.

If you’ve ever been the quiet, “okay lang ako” type, trying to deal with things on your own so you won't be a burden, Brent’s story might hit close to home. Everyone carries silent weights. But that doesn’t mean you have to carry them alone. You're allowed to feel. You’re allowed to share. And most of all, you’re allowed to be understood.

Kuya to AC: "....'yung mga sinasabi ng ibang tao sa paligid mo, don't let those noise stop you from being you. There are people who you trust, who you love, 'yun ang isapuso mo."

AC Bonifacio once got vulnerable inside the Confession Room about her struggles with overthinking. She admitted that she often finds herself second-guessing everything she says or does, afraid that people might misinterpret her actions. Because of that, she’s always figuring out how or where to place herself in a situation.

Here's for those who've ever felt the pressure to always “get it right,” or constantly wondered how others might perceive them. You don’t have to shrink yourself just to make others comfortable. Your true people will understand you.

Klarisse de Guzman said this after she bravely came out as bisexual and revealed the relationship she had kept hidden for four years.

As they say, "The truth will set you free." Klarisse's journey shows us that authenticity is a form of liberation. It can be scary to share parts of yourself you've kept hidden, but the people who truly care about you will support and accept you. When you step into your truth, you find the freedom to live fully.

"Kuya to Ashley: We only fail once we stop trying."

After being nominated for eviction, Ashley Ortega broke down in the Confession Room as she opened up about feeling like a constant letdown. Ashley said she always feels like falling short no matter how hard she tries. So Kuya told Ashley that as long as she keeps going, there's still room for learning, and eventually, being seen. Remember, quitting is the only real failure.

Kuya to River: "Don't dwell too much sa iisang pagkakamali. Marami ka pang matututunan at mararanasan... that's all part of your growth, of your journey para mahubog ka to become a better person."

River was overwhelmed with guilt after making a mistake during the weekly task, blaming himself for the group's loss. He didn't want anyone to suffer because of him. He was being too hard on himself, so Kuya reminded him that mistakes are just stepping stones to becoming better.

In life, we often beat ourselves up over our failures, especially when we think we've let others down. But just like River, it's important to remember that mistakes aren't the end.

Charlie: "I blocked [my dad]. I just needed the peace. It was the hardest thing I've done in my life, but siyempre, I have to face the consequences. But there was peace."

Charlie's parents have been separated since 2015, and she hasn't been in touch with her dad since 2023. Of course, she wanted to be a good daughter and collect memories with her father, but something in his actions forced her to make a hard decision.

Kuya, understanding Charlie's pain of being caught between two people she holds dear, said, "Mahirap pagdugtungin ang mga pusong hindi na magdurugtong, pero hindi mawawala ang kakayahan nitong magmahal."

Sometimes, the hardest part of healing is accepting that not all broken relationships can be mended, at least not yet. You have to learn to love yourself first and seek peace, even when that means facing heart-wrenching choices. It’s a tough lesson, but peace is always the first step to healing.
