It’s the time of the year again when the world seems to stop, as we take a break from the hustles and bustles of our daily lives and spend it by going on vacations, staying at home to take a rest, or observing religious traditions, especially the Roman Catholics—Holy Week.

And among those who are very excited about these few days of respite are our hardworking celebrities, just like the Kapamilya stars featured in this exclusive video, who willingly responded to our question, “How do you personally reflect or find peace during Holy Week?”

Most of them disclosed that they usually take this opportunity to bond with their families and friends, whom they probably haven’t seen or hung out with for quite some time because of how busy they are in their respective endeavors.

Time To Dance” host Gela Atayde and judge Ken San Jose both said that their respective families make use of this short break to spend time together, reconnect with one another, and do some reflections. While the San Joses seem to usually go on vacations, the Ataydes, on the other hand, do their annual Visita Iglesia tradition.

As a proud Roman Catholic, ASAP New Gen Supah Dancer Joao Constancia will also take on the tradition of visiting seven churches despite having to do it all by himself this time since all his family members are currently in Macau.

The same goes for “Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11” 4th Big Placer Kai Montinola, who always spends the Holy Week at home with her devout family as they never miss doing their religious traditions, as well as “ASAP” Rockoustic heartthrob Kobie Brown, who usually goes to church and accompanies his devoted mom.

Another famous dedicated Catholic is “PBB Celebrity Collab Edition” and “Pilipinas Got Talent” host Melai Cantiveros, who makes sure that her family has a meaningful Holy Week every year, as they spend it on prayers, reflections, and thanksgiving.

“Showtime Online U” host Sheena Belarmino revealed that she and her family are always just at home during this time, as they eat together and talk about life. Similarly, “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” actress Gillian Vicencio takes these few days of respite as an opportunity to have some quiet time with her family and the Lord.

ASAP”’s Dance Siren Chie Filomeno implied that she usually opts to spend the Holy Week enjoying and finding peace in God’s creations, which translates to going on a quick getaway.

Saving Grace: The Untold Story” star Elisse Joson, meanwhile, takes her time off social media for a few days to reflect on things without the “noise” from social media. “It’s Showtime” host Karylle also long ago gave up her penchant for “chismis” or gossip many years ago, as she realized how unhealthy it is. So, in recent years, she has been focused on reflecting on her wrongdoings and the ways to correct them, as well as on finding inner peace.

“Tawag ng Tanghalan: The School Showdown” grand champion Carmelle Collado takes this time to reflect and repent on her mistakes and sins, as does Gerald Anderson, who uses those non-busy days to carry out his five R’s: rest, relax, recharge, restart, and reflect on the blessings and the learnings.

“iWant ASAP” host Jeremy G’s way of personally reflecting and finding peace during the Holy Week is by listening to music, isolating himself, and praying, making himself more introverted. Quite similarly, “PBB Gen 11” Big Winner Fyang Smith will likely just zone out and watch any content that may interest her.

While reflection, introspection, and finding peace are some things that many of us usually do during Holy Week—as this feature suggests—but Jodi Sta. Maria highly believes that we don’t need to wait for this blessed period to come for us to be able to carry those out. For her, we can actually do them everyday by meditating, praying, remembering the things that we’ve been blessed with and are grateful for, as well as letting go of things that are beyond our control.

And PBB alumni Anji Salvacion and Jarren Garcia certainly couldn’t agree more since she finds time to do her daily devotionals as soon as she wakes up in the morning, while he thinks that prayer is the easiest and best way to find peace each day.
