It has already been more than a month since Bahay ni Kuya once again opened its doors to the newest batch of housemates that comprise the well-loved “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition.” And everyday, we get to know more about the housemates through the stories and sentiments that they share with Big Brother and their fellow participants, as well as their shenanigans and performances in tasks, which never fail to impress and amuse us.

However, being the “teleserye ng totoong buhay,” a season of PBB would never be complete without the drama, which arises whenever there are conflicts that spark among the housemates or whenever they impart personal anecdotes that tug at the heartstrings and elicit life realizations that we can perhaps relate to.

As we do some reflections this Holy Week, let us revisit the heartwarming moments that hit us to the core in this special feature!

River Joseph gets emotional during visit at “restaurant ni Kuya”

At the mere sight of her beloved mom’s photo on the LED screen in front of him during his visit at the “restaurant ni Kuya,” River was already overcome by his emotions as he expressed how he misses her so much. Just like his fellow nominees that week who were also invited to the “fine dining restaurant,“ the “Sporty Business Bro ng Muntinlupa City” was asked to answer three personal questions prepared by the PBB team.

But among those questions, he was apparently affected the most when quizzed if he ever felt alone in dealing with losing his brother, Richard, and his dad, to which he confirmed in between tears, “Yes, I did feel so alone.” While those tragedies completely tore him apart, he just couldn’t imagine the pain that his mom had to go through after their deaths.

When asked if he ever felt stuck with her as he chose to stay with her after his sisters decided to move out, River confessed that he would never ever feel that way as he has chosen to stay with her. The thought of moving out may have crossed his mind, yet he can’t leave her since he promised to take care of her until she grows old. He exclaimed, “I’m so happy to be living with you, Mom. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love you so much.”

Ashley Ortega hopes to make amends with her mom

Right from the first few hours of their arrival at the PBB house, we already knew about the rift that Ashley has with her mom over matters that she didn’t specifically disclose. Yet, we’re able to see the immense pain that their huge misunderstanding had inflicted on her as she got emotional every time it was brought up, such as her conversations with Kuya inside the confession room and her visit at “restaurant ni Kuya.”

The growing tension between them was what apparently compelled the “Independent Tis-Ice Princess ng San Juan” to move out of their house in order for her and her mom to avoid further hurting each other’s feelings, as well as to give both of them the time and space to ponder and heal. During their “dinner date,” she revealed that although her mom was her inspiration to become a champion figure skater and good actress, their main problem was not being able to communicate their emotions properly.

Despite their falling out, the Kapuso actress is still grateful to her mom and hopeful that she will finally find it in her heart to forgive her so that they’ll be able to fix their relationship.

Esnyr shows vulnerable side as he talks about his father

While he never fails to entertain us with every content that he uploads on the internet and with his comedic shenanigans inside Bahay ni Kuya, not a lot of people know that there’s sadness, hurt, and yearning that lies beneath the jovial façade of Esnyr. And he opened up about this for the first time when Big Brother tasked them to quell a misconception about them through their houseguest Michelle Dee.

Many breadwinners were surely able to relate to the “Son-sational Viral Beshie ng Davao del Sur” when he ‘fessed up about his resentment against his father, who seemed to have never appreciated him or cared about him despite everything that he has done for their family. While his job as a content creator has tremendously helped them with their debts and finances, it also caused a huge misunderstanding between him and his father, with whom he never had a tight bond.

Gusto ko talaga na sumali rito kasi hindi lang dream ko sa sarili ko na gusto kong kauna-unahang LGBT representation sa Big 4, pero mostly para talaga sa pamilya ko. Gusto kong malaman nila na sobrang mahal na mahal ko sila,” Esnyr expressed and went on to add how much he hopes for him and his dad to be okay.

Klarisse de Guzman touched by mom’s surprise message

Klarisse’s highly unexpected admission that she’s bisexual during their “Misconception Task” was indeed the talk of the town after it was aired on free TV. It might have come as a shock to everyone, yet she gained the support of the public, especially of the LGBTQIA+ community, in which Esnyr and Michelle are also both part of.

Apparently, it’s not only the housemates, Kuya, the netizens, and the community who are happy for the “Kuwela Soul Diva ng Antipolo” for mustering the courage to finally come out, but also her beloved parents. Aside from accepting her for who she is, they also support her relationship with her longtime non-showbiz partner, Christrina Rey. To prove it, her mom’s heartwarming message for her was played during her intermission number in their “rampa weekly task,” wherein she performed the song that she composed for their one-shot film.

Mika Salamanca heartbroken after receiving red flag

She may have amassed throngs of supporters throughout her years as a content creator, but it seems that her housemates are still not impressed by how Mika presents herself inside the PBB house, as she got the lowest number of votes during their “Pagpapakatotoo Task,” which earned her the red flag. In that mini task, Kuya asked them to rate their housemates according to how they perceive their sincerity.

Even though the “Controversial Ca-babe-len ng Pampanga” flashed a smile in front of her housemates as she grabbed her red flag, she wasn’t able to hold back her tears anymore as Michelle Dee followed her to the girls’ bedroom to console her. Despite what happened, Mika still faced her housemates with a smile on her face and told them that it’s okay because she believed that they didn’t mean anything bad.

Kira Balinger in tears as she shares her parents’ story

And lastly, as she was summoned by Kuya to the confession room to get to know her further by asking about the love story that has the greatest impact on her—which is related to their “Twin Towers of Love” weekly task—Kira imparted that it would definitely have to be her parents.’ They may not be together anymore, but she appreciates that they chose to stay married and sacrifice their own happiness for her sake.

Since their breakup happened when she was only 11, the “Hopeful Belle ng Cavite” felt that she was robbed of her childhood since she wasn’t able to completely enjoy it due to their predicament. As she remains optimistic that it is still possible for them to be together again, she’s been working hard to be able to provide for them and give them the house where all of them can live.

You are a testament to their love for each other. Huwag mong kakalimutan ‘yan.”
