It is said that there are people who come into our lives for certain reasons and seasons, and they include our friends, romantic partners, and other people that have become part of our journeys. However, there are people who have been in our lives ever since we were born and chosen by God to be with us as we go through the ups and downs of life—our beloved family.

With how unpredictable and complicated show business can be, and even the world in general, celebrities, just like many of us, depend on nobody but their families when it comes to personal and professional matters. And five Kapamilya stars share during their respective interviews in “Magandang Buhay” how they express their love and appreciation to their families, who have been permanent fixtures in their lives.

Let’s begin with Vice Ganda, who imparted during her appearance on the morning talk show together with her Nanay Rosario and older sister Marivic her own way of handling family problems. While we are expected to consistently lend a hand to our loved ones, especially during tough times, the “It’s Showtime” host confessed that there are instances when she chooses to exude tough love in order to teach them a lesson.

And when the time came that Marivic was able to conquer her personal struggles, the Unkabogable Star appreciated it and gave back the love that she would need to continue with life.

Belle Mariano wasn’t able to keep herself from getting emotional during her guesting when she received a letter from her mom, wherein the latter expressed how grateful and proud she is of the young actress-singer. Belle, in return, conveyed her gratitude to her Mama Kat for being her “core” who helped her get through rough times in her life, as well as how she loves her so much.

Zaijian Jaranilla might not have shared much of his personal life, but it was revealed during his interview that he was the breadwinner of his family. At a very young age, he already had the mindset of helping his family and making sure that they should also have whatever he had.

As his beloved grandma, Mommy Dulce, made a surprise appearance, Zaijian imparted that it was she who guided him growing him up and taught him to be understanding and considerate. Zaijian related, “Ang sarap ipagpatuloy ng ginagawa ko kasi siya lagi, ‘yong family ko lagi ang inspirasyon ko.”

She may be one of the greatest singers in the local entertainment scene with innumerable sold-out shows under her belt, yet Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid doesn’t only credit herself for the success of her concerts. In an episode of “Magandang Buhay” wherein she talked about her then-recently concluded show, “Regine Rocks,” she shared that it was indeed a team effort, with her beloved and supportive family in the forefront.

According to her, it is her husband, Ogie Alcasid who, took the place of her late father, Mang Gerry, as her vocal trainer, while her siblings and in-laws are very much involved with her from the preparations to the show proper.

“Grabe ‘yong alalay nila. ‘Yong suporta kasi lagi namang nandiyan eh, pero ‘yong inaalalayan ka from Day 1 hanggang matapos, iba ‘yon kasi alam nila na I’m not the same,” Momshie Regine enthused. “I’m just so blessed; I feel so happy that I have my whole family to support me.”

Last, but definitely not the least, is “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” star Charo Santos, who received heartwarming messages from her family and house angels during her guesting in “Magandang Buhay.” Thus, she wasn’t able to contain her emotions and stated, “I’m just full of gratitude; my heart is full. I’d like to say that my family means everything to me. They’re my life. My heart is full, I’m grateful.”

The veteran actress and “MMK” host also opened up about her stepdaughter Rina Concio, who seemed to have made her first-ever media appearance on the program as the latter sent a touching message to her as well. Charo related how they were able to form a cordial bond with one another ever since she married her father when Rina was only 12.

“She became a real friend to me. I’m so happy to know that she has found true love; she has found her peace. That’s what I’ve been praying for. I’ve missed her [since] she has moved to San Francisco for good. But she’s in my heart and will always be in my heart,” she said.
