The recent episode of "FPJ’s Batang Quiapo" delivered a literal bang with a job fair scene that left major characters rattled. The public event under the name 'Manila Job Expo 2025' was organized by the office of the current mayor, Roberto Guerrero (Albert Martinez) and drew in some major characters from the series. The Benito family was in attendance, while Don Julio (Tommy Abuel) of the Montenegro clan served as a sponsor. Representing the Dimaguiba family was Rigor (John Estrada), who showed up desperately seeking a fresh start after his dismissal from the police force.

In the middle of Mayor Guerrero’s speech, a sudden explosion and subsequent shootout sparked chaos, serving as a major turning point in the story, as it led to the unexpected encounter between Roberto and Rigor. In the end, Rigor safely escorted the mayor out of the venue after single-handedly fighting off the assailants. 

In a behind-the-scenes reel, unit director Darner Villaflor shared that the goal of this explosive sequence was to seamlessly bring together all four families in a single event. And a job fair held at a school was the perfect setup. Since the scene was designed as a public event, one major challenge was managing the large crowd. 

For the setting, the team meticulously recreated the atmosphere of a typical municipal job fair, complete with booths and banners. And as for the explosion and shootout, the production used practical and live effects, so they made sure safety was a top priority during the shoot.

The cast teased that this major event brings a new string of conflict in the series, particularly the unexpected encounter between Roberto and Rigor. Albert shared, “Magkakaroon kami ng collaboration, magkakaroon kami ng tandem ni Rigor. It will be a powerful sight of Mayor with Rigor on my side.”

In the story, Mayor Roberto remains clueless of who orchestrated the chaos and the assassination attempt on his life. Little does he know, the mastermind is none other than his own sister, Vice Mayor Olivia (Chanda Romero), who was just sitting right next to him on stage during the event. In the BTS video, Chanda hints at the start of her character's treacherous plans, driven by her thirst for power and her ambition to replace Roberto as mayor.
