The moment ardent fans of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” had been waiting for has finally come! After more than two years of waiting and following their respective journeys, Tanggol (Coco Martin) and Ramon (Christopher de Leon) ultimately found out their real connection—not only as lovers of Mokang (Lovi Poe) but as father and son for real!

As we look forward to seeing them join forces to exact vengeance against those who did them wrong and topple down those who will attempt to go against them, especially their family ventures, let us revisit how their much-awaited reunion transpired in this episode of Friday 5.

Those who got to witness the so-called “royal rumble” among the two of them, Rigor (John Estrada), and David (McCoy de Leon) that transpired at Sandimas could recall that Tanggol and Ramon initially engaged in a bloody fisticuff before Marites (Cherry Pie Picache) was able to stop them and reveal to them that they are the persons that one another had been searching for.

Thus, from fighting each other, the two waged war against David and Rigor, with Tanggol trying to defeat Rigor while Ramon taking charge of David. As soon as he was able to knock David down during their squabble, Ramon immediately came to rescue his real son, who was being strangled by Rigor with a stainless-steel chain. 

Ramon attempted to shoot Rigor but it was him who got gunned down instead, so Tanggol took his turn of helping his biological father out by grabbing the gun away from Rigor and shooting him on the left shoulder. Tanggol and Ramon managed to escape from Sandimas despite the presence of the cops, who they all gunned down, and sought temporary refuge at an abandoned building where the son treated the wound sustained by his father. 

While Ramon was still unconscious, Tanggol pondered on how he should feel towards him—whom he had considered as his nemesis for a very long time—or if he should forgive him after what he had done to him and Marites. 

A poignant, heart-rending, and heated dialogue then ensued between them as Tanggol conveyed his exasperation against Ramon, while the latter told the former how eager he actually was to give him everything that Montenegros could offer to him. Thus, he asked his adoptive sister, Olga (Irma Adlawan) to search for him and take him away from his family. However, instead of sincerely helping him out, Olga instead betrayed him by introducing David to him as his long-lost child. 

As Ramon went on with his recollection of what happened in the past two decades that they were apart, he also recounted their first couple of close encounters that sparked his curiosity about Tanggol. The first one was when their groups clashed during a Chinese wedding held in Quiapo, wherein Ramon saw himself in Tanggol not just because of being his spitting image when he was as young as him, but of his fighting and shooting skills that he exhibited during the shootout. The second one was during their intense face-off at the Montenegro bodega where Ramon got shocked again upon sight of Tanggol, who then refused to expose his identity.

Unfortunately, the police were able to catch up with them, so they were left with no choice but to fight back at them as a tandem. There, viewers got to witness their somehow similar combat techniques, as well as their first-ever battle together as official father and son. They’re able to prove that while they are already strong individually, they can be a whole lot stronger if they are just going to join forces.

For sure, we’re going to see more of Ramon and Tanggol’s delightful moments as father and son, especially now that the latter has already accepted that he is indeed a Montenegro.
