It was indeed a week filled with drama and touching moments in “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” as we witnessed the aftermath of the bloody and horrendous crossfire among the father-and-son tandems of Ramon (Christopher de Leon), Tanggol (Coco Martin), Rigor (John Estrada), and David (McCoy de Leon) as they finally came face-to-face.  

The previous week began with David and Rigor being rushed to the hospital by the barangay officers. Because of what happened, Rigor was fuming mad at Marites (Cherry Pie Picache) upon seeing her at the hospital, not being able to help himself from assaulting and chastising her in front of many people. She tried to explain herself but her words only fell to deaf ears as Rigor was already overcome with rage. 

Being the dependable friend that he is, Mando (Allan Paule) promised Marites that he would do his best to convince Rigor to drop the case against her for he believed that she did it with good intentions. Their barangay chairman also attempted to talk to Rigor about it but the latter was too consumed by his goal to exact vengeance against Marites, Ramon, and Tanggol. 

Meanwhile, Tanggol was able to evade the authorities who were chasing them and get the injured Ramon to safety by bringing him to an abandoned building. The authorities caught him subsequently while buying medical supplies at a drugstore, but he was able to singlehandedly knock them all down and fled back to Ramon. After treating his wounds, Tanggol had a poignant and intense conversation with Ramon, wherein he opened up about his wrath against him because of what happened to Mokang (Lovi Poe), the woman they both loved with all their heart, as well as of what Ramon did to Marites many years ago that gave birth to him and made him suffer in the hands of Rigor. 

Ramon took it as an opportunity for him to explain himself to Tanggol why he did it to Marites and narrated to him everything that happened in the two decades that they were apart and how Olga (Irma Adlawan) was able to trick him into believing that David was indeed his long-lost son that he had been looking for. Ramon also recounted the couple of times that they came face-to-face and how he and Marites crossed paths again after a very long time.  

 Just when Ramon seemingly assumed that Tanggol would be delighted to find out that he and Marites have been seeing each other and he is already falling in love with her, Tanggol instead got mad and told him to stay away from his beloved mother and her family. Ramon tried to win his favor by expressing his desire to be a father to him this time and vowing to give him everything that the he and Don Julio (Tommy Abuel) could offer to him.  

But before Tanggol could give an answer, the cops already got into their hideout and a nail-biting skirmish ensued between them. Fortunately, Ramon’s henchmen came to their rescue and was able to save them from being killed. Ramon tried to persuade Tanggol to come with them but he refused, telling them that he could fend for himself. 

On the other hand, as David gained consciousness, Rigor immediately told him about Tanggol and Ramon’s escape and Marites’ arrest, as well as assured him that he would be safe from their rivals for he would not let them come near to him. Rigor also tried to confront him about posing as Tanggol but David dodged it by complaining that his head hurt and he felt dizzy.  

Just when David assumed that he was already able to evade Rigor’s questions, the latter brought it up again, to which he confessed that it was all part of Olga’s wicked schemes and he couldn’t do anything about it since he was scared that she would murder their family, especially Rigor. While these were all true, David lied about doing it not for money but to protect their family, and Rigor once again fell for his favorite son’s untruthful sob story. Rigor even expressed how proud he is of David for showing more courage and honor than the police, which—of course—delighted the latter.  

David went on to weave a web of lies when Rigor asked him about what he knows about the Montenegros and how his life had been while living with them. He even expressed his excitement to go back to his real life as a Dimaguiba and to finish his studies and become a policeman, so that he could arrest and put Ramon and Tanggol behind bars.  

Moreover, David and Rigor were able to apparently stir Santino’s (Ronwaldo Martin) rage against Tanggol and Marites as they told him what happened when he came to the hospital to visit them. Thus, Santino confronted Marites about his alleged affair with Ramon, which was David and Ramon said was the reason why she helped him and Tanggol escape. Even though it was difficult for him to grasp everything that’s happening to their family, Santino was eager to take Marites out of jail no matter what it will take. 

As Ramon and his henchmen returned to the mansion, wherein they were welcomed by a worried Don Julio, Tanggol went back to his group’s hideout and was approached by them who were also worried sick about him. Both Ramon and Tanggol talked about everything that transpired and they found out during the time that they were gone.  

While the thought of Tanggol joining forces with his father was a good idea in order to further grow their business, his group feared that they would lose him as Ramon will surely take him away from them. 

Ardent viewers of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” were apparently affected as well by what happened in the previous week’s episodes of the show, especially with Marites’ arrest, as seen in some of the tweets they posted on X (formerly Twitter), which we collated below. 

At the same time, viewers also expressed their excitement when it was teased in the last episode that new characters will be unlocked beginning this week. Who among them are going to be Tanggol’s ally and enemy?
