For the employees and artists of ABS-CBN, especially the ones who were already in the company over the past decades, Federico “Freddie” M. Garcia is known as one of its top executives. Fondly called by his colleagues as FMG, he served as its president and chief operating officer from 1997 to 2003 and has been a member of its board of directors and management consultant since 2006.

However, for avid viewers of ABS-CBN, FMG is probably more famous as OG judge of the biggest and well-loved local reality talent search, Pilipinas Got Talent, who either wracks the nerves or warms the hearts of the contestants with his insightful and straightforward comments.

As Season 7 kicks off this coming weekend, March 29 and March 30, let us revisit the stints of “The Boss” in the previous editions of the reality talent search in this Kapamilya Spotlight feature!

FMG has been part of the show ever since its inaugural season in 2010, taking on the significant role as one of its judges alongside veteran actress-comedienne Ai-Ai Delas Alas and Queen of All Media Kris Aquino.

Their terrific trio lasted until Season 4. Three new judges joined FMG in Season 5, which premiered in 2016, namely, Vice Ganda, Angel Locsin, and Robin Padilla.

The four esteemed judges reprised their roles in Season 6, which ran from January to April 2018.

Six years later, Kapamilya viewers got to see the local entertainment industry luminary again on television in 2024 when he was tapped to be one of the hurados in the week-long annual Magpasikat tradition of “It’s Showtime” for the celebration of its 15th anniversary. He shared the judging panel with TV and film director Rory Quintos, actress and beauty queen Alice Dixson, Kapamilya heartthrob Donny Pangilinan, and Kapuso actress Gabbi Garcia.

And this 2025, as PGT makes a comeback for its seventh season, so does FMG! Watch out for his spicy and/or touching comments, as well as amusing shenanigans and banters with his fellow judges Donny Pangilinan, Kathryn Bernardo, and Eugene Domingo, as well as with the contestants and hosts Robi Domingo and Melai Cantiveros, in “Pilipinas Got Talent Season 7,” beginning on March 29 and 30.
