It is said that people who tend to bring laughter and good vibes to others are those who are really going through tough times in their lives. And one of them is Grace (Zia Grace), the titular character in the ABS-CBN Studios series “Saving Grace: The Untold Story,” who has endeared viewers with how she’s still able to manage to smile and be optimistic amidst her heartbreaking and traumatic experiences caused by her mother, Sarah (Jennica Garcia), and her stepfather, Chito (Christian Bables). 

We might have seen her cry so hard a lot of times, especially everytime Sarah and Chito maltreated her, yet Grace has remained our ray of sunshine on primetime because of the good vibes and optimism that she radiates. Just in case you’re looking for something that would make you smile and feel a bit lighter, we compiled some of her cute and comical moments in this edition of Kapamilya Update. 

Let us begin with that scene wherein Grace brought her beloved pet chicken, Pipo, to the dining table to eat alongside her. As Sarah slightly reprimanded her for doing it again and then for not waking her up at the time she instructed her to do so, she defended Pipo by saying that it’s okay since it is well-behaved and that it didn’t crow yet, which served as her signal to wake Sarah up.

Grace surely endeared us as well when she feigned her hunger and craving for the sandwich that Teacher Anna (Julia Montes) was eating during recess. She might have told her that she was still full after eating a lot of “Bright” hotdogs that her Mama cooked for breakfast, but Teacher Anna didn’t believe it, so she handed Grace her another sandwich. Amusingly, Grace accepted it without hesitation and immediately stashed it into her bag for she would eat it with Pipo. 

Since nobody from her classmates wanted her to be part of their respective groups, Grace was left with no choice but to do their class activity all by herself. Teacher Anna noticed her and asked if she could do it alone, to which Grace confidently replied, “positive” with matching thumb up. When asked to take a piece of paper and found nothing inside her bag, Grace quizzed Teacher Anna if she could just memorize it, to which the latter responded that she would receive the score of “0” if she refused to participate in their activity. 

In their first-ever chance encounter outside school, Grace certainly brightened up our primetime viewing when she instantly turned into an endorser of her favorite hotdog brand as she enthused about it while Teacher Anna was eating. Even though Anna was consistently taciturn in answering her every question, Grace still continued to talk until her teacher decided to give up her meal to her upon hearing the growling of her stomach. 

Grace may tend to be stubborn and playful, yet she still knows how to be sweet, affectionate, and caring. She was able to show it to Teacher Anna by taking care of her when she was sick and calling her Mama in order to make other people believe that they are blood-related. As Teacher Anna feared that somebody might have recognized Grace while she was asleep, the little girl asked her to fret not since she never removed her jacket and cap, although she already felt hot and sweaty. 

And lastly, while looking for a place to seek refuge in, they found an orphanage owned by Lucy (Sherry Lara), who initially didn’t accept them since she couldn’t take care of them anymore. But due to Grace’s cuteness and promises, she was able to convince Lucy to take them in.
