In the years or decades that they’ve been in the entertainment scene, celebrities have certainly met people in the industry whom they were able to create close-knit ties with and they considered either as friends or kin. 

Just like the lead stars of the ABS-CBN Studios primetime series “Saving Grace: The Untold Story,” who have found their mother figures in the veteran and seasoned actresses they got to work with throughout their showbiz. And in this video, they fondly talk about their respective experiences working alongside their famous mother figures in their projects together, as well as bonding with them off-cam.

In the more than a decade that she’s been in showbiz, Elisse Joson admitted that she has formed tight bonds with the actresses who played as her moms in the projects that she worked in. Among them are her “Saving Grace” co-stars Sharon Cuneta and Janice de Belen, as well as her “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso”s co-star Sunshine Dizon.

She described Sharon as warm and loving, as well as “sobra siyang nanay ng bayan,” as she portrays Miranda Valdez, the mom of her character Atty. Jessica Valdez. Meanwhile, since it’s not their first time working with each other, Elisse imparted that she and Janice got to talk more on a different and deeper level. She then conveyed missing Sunshine so much since she’s fun to be with.

As she tends to call her “Megastar,” Jennica shared that Sharon would always tell her to call her “Mama” instead. She has nothing but gratitude to Sharon for how she loves her as if she is her own child by making sure that she is well-fed, okay, and at home with her. They’re also able to feel her genuine love and concern for them as Sharon tends to do things that she even doesn’t have to. She never fails to make them realize, especially Jennica who would put her on the pedestal, that they are all just equals despite their status in the industry.

Christian Bables also regards the Megastar as his mother figure in showbiz, whom she got to work with for the first time in "Your Face Sounds Familiar Season 3,” where their lovely bond with one another started. He described her as “very motherly” for he feels her genuine love and care for them. 

Aside from Sharon, Christian’s other famous mother figures are veteran actress Daria Ramirez, who was his mom in the 2018 film “Signal Rock,” and Rosanna Roces, who played his mother in the 2019 flick “The Panti Sisters.”

Sam Milby also felt the motherly affection of the Megastar, whom he got to work with for the first time ever in “Saving Grace.” According to him, since Sharon is aware that he has diabetes, she would give him sugar-free desserts and beverages, which he highly appreciates. 

Moreover, even though it has already been years since they got to work together in the Kapamilya soap opera “Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin,” Sam said that he continues to look up to Maricel Soriano as his mother figure for he admires her being kind and generous.

Both may be mentioned by their younger “Saving Grace” co-stars as among their mother figures in the industry, yet Janice and Sharon still have their own. 

For Janice, it’s esteemed actress-filmmaker Laurice Guillen, who played the role of her stepmom, Jo, in the 1979 classic series “Flordeluna.” Sharon, on the other hand, has four, namely, actresses Mina del Rosario and Helen Gamboa (who’s also her aunt), and ABS-CBN executives Charo Santos, Malou Santos, and Director Olivia Lamasan.

And lastly, Julia Montes enthused about the lovely and unique relationships she has formed with her showbiz moms, who are her “Mommy” Sharon, Dimples Romana, and late veteran actress Susan Roces. 

Prior to “Saving Grace,” Julia’s first time working with her Mommy Sharon was in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” where they played the roles of estranged mother and daughter, Aurora and Mara. Dimples, on the other hand, was her mom, Alvira, in the 2010 remake of the classic series “Mara Clara,” while Susan was her grandmother-in-law, Henya, in the 2012 primetime drama “Walang Hanggan.”
