Sharon Cuneta has been in the entertainment industry for more than four decades already, starting out as a singer and recording artist at the young age of 12. She began acting in 1981 by starring in the classic film “Dear Heart,” which launched her film career.

After a yearlong hiatus from show business, she made a TV comeback in 1998 via the musical talk program “Sharon,” which first season ran for six years until 2004. She took another break that year and returned in 2006 with the second incarnation of the award-winning show, which concluded in 2010.

Fans of the Megastar didn’t have to wait for a long time for her return on television, as she was bestowed her own reality contest in 2010—the “Star Power: Sharon's Search for the Next Female Pop Superstar”—which she hosted alongside crooners Erik Santos and Christian Bautista. One of its contestants was Angeline Quinto, who was subsequently declared the grand champion by the end of the competition.

In 2017, Sharon retained her seat in “The Jury” panel of “Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids.” She and Gary were joined that time by their fellow OPM icon Ogie Alcasid. It was Awra Briguela who was declared the winner of this edition’s inaugural season.

We then got to witness Sharon’s side not just as a magnificent judge but also as a hands-on and meticulous coach in the third season of “The Voice Kids Philippines” in 2016, joining OG coaches Lea Salonga and Bamboo Mañalac. Her young artist, Antonetthe Tismo, made it to the Final Rounds and was named the 1st runner-up.

And in 2021, 43 years after she began her showbiz career, Sharon finally made her teleserye acting debut via the long-running primetime series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.” She appeared in the fifth and final season and played the role of Aurora Guillermo, the long-lost love of President Oscar Hidalgo, portrayed by her former onscreen partner Rowell Santiago. This was also where she got to work for the first time with Julia Montes, who took on the character of Mara, the estranged daughter of Aurora and Oscar.
