In the more than a decade that she has been in the local entertainment scene, Elisse Joson has already breathed life into a variety of roles that didn’t just display her alluring splendor but her promising acting prowess as well.

From teenybopper roles that she used to usually portray in her early years in showbiz, we’ve witnessed how she has gone bolder and braver in recent projects, as she began taking on relatively more mature and daring roles. Among them is her “Saving Grace: The Untold Story” character, Atty. Jessica Valdez, the loving unica hija of Sharon Cuneta’s Miranda Valdez.

And while we’re still waiting for its much-awaited television premiere, let’s first revisit some of Elisse’s previous acting gigs that truly elevated her to becoming the prolific and promising actress that she is now in this Kapamilya Spotlight feature!

While she rose to popularity via her stint in “Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7” in 2016, not a lot of people are probably aware that she already appeared in a slew of ABS-CBN Studios programs prior to that. Her first acting projects included a few episodes of the anthology programs “Wansapanataym” and “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” as well as the highly successful daytime drama “Be Careful With My Heart” (2012-2014), wherein she played supporting character Chesca.

In 2014, she was cast in the romantic drama series “Forevermore” as the straightforward friend of Sofia Andres’ character, Kate. It was also in that same year when she played the mean Erica in “Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon.”

Elisse apparently had a hectic year in 2015 as she didn’t just appear in one or two programs, but five. She was once again the onscreen best friend of Sofia Andres in the “Bintana” episode of “MMK,” as well as the best friend of the lead female character in the “Tinalikurang Pangako” episode of “Ipaglaban Mo,” which was her first-ever appearance in the legal drama anthology. Meanwhile, she was on the side of the kontrabida in the “Fat Patty” narrative of “Wansapanataym,” then played the supporting character Alexis Madrigal in the primetime family series “You’re My Home.”

After her shortlived stint in “PBB Lucky Season 7,” she got cast in the long-running action series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” as Lorraine, the love interest of McCoy’s character JP Arevalo. They also starred in the acclaimed family drama series “The Good Son” in 2017, wherein she portrayed the smart and talented cosplaying teenage girl named Sabina De Guzman.

The year 2018 was indeed a great one for her as she was able to work on not just one, but three shows, through which she got to pull off different personas. She starred as the amusing “bida-kontrabida” Stella Ortiz in “Wansapanataym Presents Ofishially Yours,” which she top-billed along with BoybandPH. She then took on the role of literacy advocate named Aliana Flores in the “Ganti” episode of “Ipaglaban Mo.”

Far from the roles she previously depicted, Elisse absolutely astounded us with her captivating portrayal of professional female street skateboarder and 2018 Asian Games gold medalist Margielyn Didal in the “Skateboard” episode of “MMK.” After that, she endeared us as Roxanne Constantino-cum-Christina Mapendo, the antagonistic long-lost sister of Julia Barretto’s character Eva Mapendo in the primetime series “Ngayon at Kailanman.”

In 2019, she inspired a lot of young women, especially the plus-sized ones, with her depiction of Ancel in the “Painting” episode of “MMK.” She then became one of the lead actors in the afternoon soap opera “Sandugo,” portraying the role of Grace Policarpio, the love interest of Aljur Abrenica’s character Leo Baltazar. Later that year, she had the chance to work with seasoned heartthrob Richard Gutierrez in the “Hot Choco” episode of “MMK,” amusing us as Shareena, a coffee shop barista who broke stereotypes by persistently courting her boss, Tito, despite their 22-year age gap.

As she made her TV comeback in 2022, Elisse once again impressed us with her dramatic chops in the “Pulseras” episode of “MMK.” She portrayed letter sender Precious Joy Berongoy, who inspired many with her lovely relationship with her beloved Auntie Marlita, played by Irma Adlawan.

However, it was her notable transformation and dramatic entrance to the controversial series “Dirty Linen” in 2023 that was much talked about. She played the antagonist Sophie Madrigales, the manipulative and scheming ex-girlfriend of Zanjoe Marudo’s character Aidan, who attempted to win him back even though he was already in a relationship with Mila (Janine Gutierrez).

That same year, she did a totally impressive job with her portrayal of the antagonist Hilary Abiog in “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso,” who assumed the identity of Amy Paraiso, who turned out to be her sister, Baby (Loisa Andalio), in pursuit of acquiring the influence and wealth that comes with being a Paraiso. Aside from these programs, she also lent her acting chops to several iWantTFC projects, such as “Ampalaya Chronicles” (2020), “Horoscope” (2021), and “The Goodbye Girl” (2022).

And now, we’re looking forward to seeing her take on the role of Atty. Jessica Valdez in the much-awaited TV airing of “Saving Grace: The Untold Story” beginning on March 3. You may catch it on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5 weeknights.
