It was indeed a record-breaking week for “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” for it was able to repeatedly break its own live online viewership record not just for one, not just for two, but for four consecutive nights! 

Many were thrilled to witness everything that would transpire as Tanggol (Coco Martin) finally discovered that his half-brother, David (McCoy de Leon), had been assuming his identity as “Hesus Nazareno Montenegro,” as Rigor (John Estrada) learned that Ramon (Christopher de Leon) is still alive and has actually been seeing Marites (Cherry Pie Picache), and as Ramon and Tanggol found out that they are father and son.

The historic week (February 17 to February 21) commenced with Roda (Joel Lamangan) wailing over what Rigor had told and done to him during the altercation that blew up in the Dimaguiba residence. As Marites and Tindeng (Charo Santos) were comforting him, someone relayed to them that Rigor was being beaten up by their neighbors due to his arrogance.

As Tanggol and his group were devising a plan on how they could inch closer to Ramon, they also wondered if he really had a brother after Madonna (Kim Domingo) mentioned to them that the latter had a son; little did he know that David, who had been posing as the heir of the Montenegros, was at their casino and gambling his money away. 

They found out about it when Divina (Rosanna Roces) presented to Tanggol the land title that David handed to her that he was trying to pawn to continue playing, which bore the name “Hesus Nazareno Montenegro.” Upon checking the CCTV camera, they saw that it was none other than the pompous and wicked David, who Madonna confirmed was the “son” of Ramon. Tanggol immediately confronted him for using his real identity—much to David’s horror—and unleashed his deep-seethed anger on him by mercilessly throwing strong blows and kicks at him. 

Tanggol’s friends were able to stop him, which allowed David to escape together with his lawyer, Atty. Vera Saldivar (Maika Rivera). David went straight to their home in Quiapo, wherein he was greeted by Rigor, who was eager to kill Tanggol upon learning that it was he who had beaten him up. He was also assaulted by an emotional Marites who had been waiting for him to come home ever since she and Ramon figured out the night before that he posed as Tanggol to embezzle the Montenegro wealth.

It was through this face-off that Rigor found out that Ramon is still alive after their bloody encounter many years ago, which he thought already claimed the latter’s life. David insisted at first that Marites was only fabricating stories until she showed Rigor the gun that he left in the hospital, which compelled him to finally ‘fess up the truth but asserted that Ramon is actually the beau of Marites. An enraged Rigor attacked Marites, which prompted Tindeng to grab Rigor’s gun and brandish it at them to stop the commotion. 

However, David was able to take the gun away from Tindeng and pointed it at Marites, but he was distracted by Ramon’s call from outside their house. Although there were just the two of them, Rigor and David bravely engaged in a gunfight with Ramon and his minions, which reminded us of what transpired in the pilot week of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.” 

Without knowing that it was Ramon and his henchmen who stormed into their place and were chasing Rigor and David, Tanggol shot them. Ramon finally caught David in an alley and was about to slash his neck with a knife when Rigor suddenly arrived at the scene, which prompted Ramon to escape. While looking for his nemesis, Ramon came face-to-face with Tanggol, and they had a bloody fisticuff, which only halted when Marites came and revealed to them that they’re actually the persons both of them had been looking for.

The two father-and-son tandems figured in separated brawls, with Rigor eager to finish up Tanggol and Ramon beating up David. Rigor and Ramon then got into an intense scuffle, which left the latter wounded after being shot by the former. Tanggol was able to save Ramon and himself from being killed by Rigor after he got ahold of the gun and shot Rigor in the right shoulder. Sensing the police were about to arrive, Marites helped Ramon and Tanggol to get up and prodded them to escape. 

Ramon and Tanggol successfully made it out of Sandimas despite the platoon of police that they had to topple down and speedily left using the latter’s car. 

The previous week was indeed a remarkable and historical one for “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” as it repeatedly breached its peak concurrent viewers record just on Kapamilya Online Live. On February 18, the views soared to 818,949 concurrent viewers, while it further shoots up to 852,417 viewers on February 19. And from 834,573 viewers that the February 20 episode listed, it skyrocketed to more than one million on February 21, the highest record for a program being livestreamed online.
