In this episode of Kapamilya Chat, Anji shares her personal ‘rules to live by,' which cover everything from curfew, relationships, and money to her fresh outlook on her career.
Starting with curfew, Anji reveals that her mom used to be strict about her coming home on time by 9 PM. But her mom is now more lenient, which makes her feel trusted as an adult. Of course, she's happy about that. These days, her mom would simply ask what time she expects to be back, likely because she’s gotten used to Anji’s unpredictable schedule as an artista.

That said, Anji isn’t one to rebel. Besides, she's naturally a homebody. So even without her mom's reminders, she prefers to be in bed by 10 PM when she has no work schedule or other plans. It’s a lifestyle she got used to in her hometown in Siargao. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how to have fun. Anji still enjoys hanging out with friends once in a while. And on rare occasions when she goes out for a girls’ night, the latest she’ll stay out is 1 or 2 AM. And no matter what, her mom would always wait for her to get home safely.

Anji is also becoming more mindful about her financial decisions, especially when it comes to shopping. “Kung magagamit mo, then buy it. But if you just want it for nothing, then don’t buy it,” she firmly says, admitting that shopping, especially online, can be addictive. She knows this firsthand as she once went through a phase of impulsive buying, but, fortunately, she quickly realized the value of hard-earned money, “Hindi madali kitain ang pera, kaya hindi dapat basta-basta nagwe-waste."

When asked her advice to those struggling with their spending habits, she underscores the need to give yourself a reality check before making a purchase. After all, only you would know if you still have room for extra purchases or if you need to start being extra 'matipid' because your funds are running low. Anji further explains that it doesn't mean you must deprive yourself. It’s totally fine to treat yourself once in a while for your hard work, just be wise about it.

When it comes to building friendships, the “Pinoy Big Brother KUMUnity Season 10” Big Winner relies on her strong sense of discernment in choosing who she lets into her inner circle. She would only want to be close to someone she feels safe with. While it’s fun to be friends with someone you share a lot of similarities with, she believes friendships last longer when they’re built on trust and security rather than just matching vibes.

As the new year kicks off, Anji has also adopted a fresh mindset when it comes to her career. If her motto before was to grab every opportunity that came her way, now she’s more intentional about accepting projects. “Hinay-hinay lang. Kasi hindi naman lahat ng opportunities na kinukuha mo ay para sa’yo,” she reflects.

Anji has realized that taking on too much can work can sometimes limit her from giving her best, and that’s something she would never want to happen again. Thus, she’s starting to prioritize projects that truly excite her, like performing on "ASAP” as part of a trio called Dance Sirens alongside Chie Filomeno and Loisa Andalio.
