"Incognito" definitely knows how to keep us on our toes. While the story's elite team of fighters have their own weapons, the show's creatives also boast some of the sharpest tools in its arsenal, such as when it comes to the way the characters are crafted, from their first appearance to their last.

The intro and exits of the Escalera villains stunned audiences. Just when you think you’ve got a grip on the plot, the show flips the script, reminding us that no one is ever really safe in this action-packed world.

Just a quick recap, Team Incognito’s first mission, which was tied to the abduction of Ambassador Rai (Raymond Bagatsing)'s daughter, Takako (Belle Mariano), brought Greg (Ian Veneracion), JB (Richard Gutierrez), Andres (Daniel Padilla), Miguel (Baron Geisler), Max (Kaila Estrada), and Tomas (Anthony Jennings) straight to Isla Azur, a dangerous island controlled by the ruthless Escalera clan of terrorists.

It wasn't an easy ride for Team Incognito though. The Escaleras were a cunning force and armed to the teeth with heavy weaponry. You could practically feel the tension as the sound of weapons being locked and loaded filled the scenes.

But despite the challenge, Team Incognito cracked the solid façade of the Escalera group. They managed to corner Sylvia (Jane de Leon) and her cousin Donato (Elijah Canlas), the son of their leader, Timor Escalera (Art Acuna). But in the middle of a high-stakes firefight, Donato was shocked to learn that Sylvia, the very person he thought was on his side, actually wanted him dead all along. She even tried to shoot him, but Andres (Daniel Padilla) took the bullet before the rest of the team took down Sylvia.

Team Incognito got Donato in custody to set up the tragic trade—the life of Donato for Takako. But Donato, desperate not to make things harder for his father, pulled a gun on the authorities to create a tense standoff. And just when the suspense couldn’t get any higher, Donato pulled the trigger—on himself.

The actors who played these notorious Escalera villains had such a blast with their roles. Jane, our modern-day superheroine, couldn’t help but share her gratitude on Instagram. She posted a shout-out to Team Incognito for having her as a guest for the pilot week, saying, "Maraming salamat #INCOGNITO for having me as your guest for the pilot week," showing just how much fun she had.

Elijah, as usual, didn’t need a ton of screen time to leave a lasting impression. And off-screen, he clicked really well with his co-stars.

Then, we’ve got Ryan Eigenmann and Dino Imperial, who play Eugene and Francis Escalera, respectively. While they didn’t get to chase Donato all the way through the action, they sure brought their A-game in the heat of the battle. In a behind-the-scenes snap, you could practically see the adrenaline in their eyes.
