There’s definitely no doubt about how talented dancer “It’s Showtime”’s very own Ate Girl Jackie Gonzaga is. But in recent years, we’ve come to notice her impressive flair in hosting, as she displayed eloquence and the ability to keep up with the humor and quick-wittedness of her co-hosts. 

Aside from her amusing banters with them and their celebrity guests, she has also found another way to tickle everyone—via her sweet and smooth pick-up lines that never fail to make us smile and even kilig. Let’s revisit some of her foolproof banats in this edition of Kapamilya Update! 

Let us begin with her “Sana talaga bagyo na lang tayo” kilig one-liner to Kapuso TV personality Anjo Pertierra during his first guesting on “It’s Showtime” late last year, to which she added, “Para magkaroon tayo ng PAG-ASA.” Surprisingly, Anjo prepared a retort to it by returning the question to her and then stated, “Kasi kahit anong bantay ng PAG-ASA, pumapasok ka pa rin sa isip ko.”

As her “It’s Showtime” fam requested another pick-up line from her, Jackie apparently came prepared, for she was able to grant their wish. She told Anjo, “Sana ID ka na lang,” then continued, “Para kapag nawala ka, alam nilang akin ka.”

In his comeback, she made sure to level up the kilig feels with the pick-up line she prepared. Jackie told him, “Para kang araw,” then injected, “Kasi kapag nakikita kita, umiinit ‘yong pakiramdam ko eh.”

Much to everyone’s delight, Anjo came in ready, for he had a witty banat for her. He asked her if she’s a kalendaryo or calendar, expounding, “Kasi sa dami ng dates na nandoon, ‘yong date natin ang inaabangan ko.”

Ardent shippers of her team-up with co-host Darren Espanto, fondly called “#JaRen,” were surely filled with kilig because of their interactions onscreen every now and then. There was an instance when she told him, “Darren, nabubuo mo ang araw ko.” 

In an episode of “Showing Bulilit,” wherein they were paired with one another, Jackie made it up to Darren, who his bestie Kim Chiu exposed got jealous of her banats with Anjo. Thus, she also prepared a pick-up line for him, which was, “Alam mo, Darren, binabago mo ang paniniwala ko. Kasi dati naniniwala ako tao tayo, pero parang mas bagay tayo.”

No language barrier, meanwhile, was able to stop our Ate Girl Jackie from showing her wit and sweetness as she taught British singer-songwriter Elliot James Reay the Filipino phrase “Mas mahal kita” as a response to his favorite Tagalog words that he just learned, “Mahal kita.” 

And lastly, the kilig feels inside the studio were indeed overwhelming when she dropped her pick-up line for “Showtime Sexy Babe” judge Jak Roberto. She compared him to the moon, saying, “Kasi kahit madilim ‘yong paligid, nang makita kita ay nagliwanag din.” He simply uttered "three months," alluding to the “three-month rule,” which is popular among people who just came from breakups.
