Since leaving the “Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11” house, the former housemates, including, of course, Fyang Smith and JM Ibarra, have been talking about growth and changes. And that includes their views on love. From what they used to believe to what they now know, they’ve had their fair share of realizations about matters of the heart.

JM used to associate love only with romantic relationships. But he saw love in a new light as he grew older. Especially with how much his mother and siblings supported him while he was inside Bahay Ni Kuya, he realized that love comes in different forms, and one of the deepest kind is the love of family. Romantic relationships don't always last, but family love is guaranteed to stay forever. "'Yun ang pinaka-genuine at pinaka-dapat pinapahalagahan kasi 'yun ang panghabamuhay."

Fyang also had a shift in perspective. She used to think love is all about the kilig—the butterflies, the excitement, the spark, "Noon, parang ‘pag nawala ‘yung sparks, ibig sabihin hindi ko na mahal ‘yung tao o hindi na niya ako mahal." But over time, she realized that love isn’t just about fleeting emotions.

When it comes to the biggest misconceptions about love, JM strongly disagrees with the idea that men should be the ones giving more effort in a relationship. He believes it should be a two-way street, "Hindi pwede 'yung mas may higit. Kailangan balanse kayong mag-aangat ng relasyon n'yo."

Meanwhile, Fyang debunked the idea that relationships are always sunshine and butterflies. "In reality, syempre, nagkakaproblema. Pero it's up to you kung paano n'yo sosolusyunan. Nasa inyo, as partners."
