Vice Ganda offers ‘motherly’ (but punchline-loaded) advice in ‘Meme Nagtext’

<p>In her movie &quot;Call Me Mother,&quot; Metro Manila Film Festival 2025 Best Actor Vice Ganda shows us that being a mother goes way beyond blood or labels. Well, even outside the screen, Vice has been &#x27;mothering&#x27; for the longest time. Through her humor, she comforts and lightens heavy moments; through her words of wisdom, she reaches those needing a little guidance or perspective. </p><p>So why not combine her punchlines and advice in one go? In this “Meme Nag-text” challenge—yup, a nod to her iconic &#x27;may nag-text&#x27; catchphrase—Vice, or Meme as she&#x27;s fondly called, reads text messages from people looking for advice. </p><div><br/></div><div><iframe width="966" height="543" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/gUB3KeJqcpo" title="Vice Ganda gives advice in ‘Meme Nag-Text!’ | ‘Call Me Mother’" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><div><br/></div><p>First up was a texter asking how to be wise when it comes to spending their 13th month pay. Of course, Meme kicked it off with a joke, &quot;Unang-una, mahirap &#x27;yan kung hindi ka naman talaga wise.&quot; And then she went on slipping in the more practical take, &quot;Pangalawang tanong, magkano ba &#x27;yung 13th month pay mo? Kasi kahit gaano ka magpaka-wise kung kaunti lang naman ang 13th month pay mo baka kulang pa &#x27;yan sa pangangailangan ng pamilya at buhay mo.&quot; Sounds like comedy, but it makes sense, right? </p><p>Seriously, though, the Unkabogable Superstar said the wisest way to spend your money starts with your mindset. &quot;Make sure you are happy spending it with anything. Maubos man &#x27;yung pera mo, naging masaya ka. Kaysa naman &#x27;yung naubos ang pera mo pero nakanganga ka pa rin at malungkot ka pa rin.&quot; At the end of the day, you worked hard for that money, so you have every right to enjoy it. “Just make sure you are happy,” she underscored.  </p><p>On to romance talk, this time, a texter asked how to move on after finding out that his/her &#x27;ka-talking stage&#x27; was also flirting with another person at the same time. &quot;Sampalin mo kasi bastos siya,&quot; Meme advised. Well, it’s totally up to you if you want to follow through with that, but the real takeaway here was what she said next, &quot;Hindi na pwede &#x27;yung bait-baitan.&quot; And if you do end up giving that slap, she suggested telling the traitor this: &quot;Ay? Masakit? Pasensiya na, &#x27;yan din kasi &#x27;yung naramdaman ko, eh.&quot;  </p><p>Meanwhile, for aspiring comedians, the &quot;It&#x27;s Showtime&quot; host had a playful warning: &quot;Huwag n&#x27;yo nang ituloy &#x27;yan! Nandito pa ako, eh. Huwag n&#x27;yo akong tanggalan ng trabaho. Dahil &#x27;pag nadiskubre ang husay n&#x27;yo, baka mawalan ako ng eksena dito sa ABS-CBN.&quot; Mother&#x27;s got jokes!  </p><p>Another texter opened up about their dream to be a dancer, but the dad insists they become a cop instead. Meme’s solution? &quot;Maging dancing policeman ka!&quot; She added in jest, &quot;At saka &#x27;yung mga pulis sumasayaw sila tuwing Christmas party. Pero kung talagang pinipilit ka ng tatay mo na maging pulis, sabihin mo  gagawin mo &#x27;yun para sa kanya pero gusto mo ang una mong huhulihin ay siya rin.&quot; That&#x27;s how you serve ambition and rebellion at the same time! LOL.  </p><p>If you could ask Meme for some motherly advice, what would it be about, Kapamilya? </p><p>“Call Me Mother” continues to bring joy to families for its heartwarming story that explores the essence of motherhood. The film is about two loving mothers – Twinkle (Vice), the queer adoptive mother of Angelo (Lucas), and Mara (Nadine), the biological mother, who strike a deal to work together in the pageant world but they ultimately find themselves trying to win over Angelo’s love. </p><p>Experience the joys and pains of motherhood in  “Call Me Mother,” now showing in cinemas nationwide. </p>
