DonBelle has truly come so far.

If there's one loveteam that’s been on everyone’s radar for a while now, it’s definitely Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, aka DonBelle. From their sweet moments on screen to their undeniable rapport off-cam, they’ve quickly become a Gen Z favorite, and it’s easy to see why. Donny and Belle have shown us what true partnership looks like. Now, as they continue to charm audiences in their rom-com series “How To Spot A Red Flag” on the Kapamilya primetime block, it’s the perfect time to look back at how DonBelle captured our hearts and rose to stardom.

Creating an experimental loveteam is like shooting for the moon—it’s either a hit or a miss. And for Donny and Belle, it was most definitely a hit. Their journey as a loveteam began in 2021 with their breakout digital series “He's Into Her,” an adaptation of a wildly popular Wattpad series. This quickly became a fan favorite, with Donny and Belle's portrayal of the characters, who navigate the ups and downs of high school romance, sparking off a love story that audiences couldn’t get enough of.

“He's Into Her” became an award-winning show, while Donny and Belle also started receiving accolades left and right.

Thanks to the success of “He's Into Her,” the duo didn’t just stop at TV. They took the next step in their career and transitioned to movies with their first film together, “Love Is Color Blind.” Their portrayal of Ino and Cara, two best friends discovering the beauty and vulnerability of love, solidified their status as one of the most lovable and promising onscreen pairs.

As 2022 rolled around, fans were treated to “He's Into Her Season 2,” where they continued to captivate viewers with their emotional depth and impeccable performances. That same year, the duo also starred in the kilig flick “An Inconvenient Love,” showcasing their range in a more mature, complex love story about two young adults navigating a casual relationship. Here, the New Gen Phenomenal Love Team proved that they could handle diverse roles while keeping their signature charm intact.

In 2023, the tandem continued their reign on screen with their iconic roles as Bingo and Caroline in “Can't Buy Me Love,” which centered on the whirlwind romance between two opposites bound by events from the past that connect them in unexpected ways. DonBelle had only grown more captivating in “Can’t Buy Me Love,” which also soared as the number-one most-watched series on Netflix Philippines. And just recently, at the Gawad Lasallianeta Awards on January 27, Donny was named the Most Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Bingo.

From digital series to movies and primetime TV, Donny and Belle's journey has been nothing short of spectacular. And honestly, there’s no denying they’re a total green flag, as they've got the chemistry, the talent, the charm, and admirable attitude that just keep us all hooked.

Bubblies, catch them in their latest rom-com offering, “How To Spot A Red Flag,” now airing on the Kapamilya primetime block.
