Throughout its highly successful nine-year run, “Gandang Gabi Vice” indeed never failed to provide viewers with good vibes through the hilarious banters and amusing conversations of its gregarious host, Vice Ganda, with celebrity guests in every episode.

But aside from laughter and entertainment, the weekly late-night talk show also served delicious and unique food common among Filipinos in some of the episodes and had the guests try them either for fun or as a dare—such as the amusing and mouth-watering clips included in this GGV Toplist!

Vice prepares COCOnut-flavored merienda for Julia Montes and Maxene Magalona

A few days before their afternoon drama series “Doble Kara” concluded in 2017, co-stars Julia and Maxene graced GGV not just to promote but to also talk about the friendship formed between them while working on the series.

And being the hospitable and playful friend that she was, the gracious host prepared coconut-flavored meriendas for them, comprised of coco jam sandwich, pan de coco, and coconut juice. While everyone knew what Vice did there, the two actresses just played along with it by munching on the breads offered to them and Julia taking a sip of the buko juice.

Maxene then mentioned the word of wisdom Julia imparted to them on the set with regard to eating together at the same time. The latter elaborated, “Sabi ko, mas masarap talaga kumain kapag sabay-sabay kasi kapag hindi mo shina-share o wala kang kasama, nakakalungkot. So, iba talaga ‘yong happiness na binibigay kapag sama-sama kayong family or friends.”

Julia was then but on the hotseat by the Unkabogable Star, asking her if she would be willing to share the remaining pan de coco on earth with the people around her, to which the former replied that it would depend on the situation. She might be able to wittily respond to the question at first, but the Kapamilya actress seemingly tapped out as she discreetly pleaded the host to stop teasing her.

Vice Ganda makes Enrique Gil and Julia Barretto eat betamax and isaw

They may be classy, but Quen and Julia were able to prove that they had the guts to eat Pinoy street foods, which we got to witness during their guesting on the program in 2014 to promote the premiere of their teleserye, “Mirabella.”

While they were hesitant to respond when asked by Vice if they’d already tried eating betamax and isaw, the two young stars still accepted the challenge. As Julia was able to take a piece of the grilled pork blood despite having it for the very first time, but Quen really couldn’t take even a bite. The chicken intestines, meanwhile, were apparently more palatable to them, as they were were able to eat them effortlessly and liked it.

Vice Ganda dares JinHo Bae and Ryan Bang to a street food challenge

Both of them may be full-blooded Korean, but JinHo and Ryan take pride in being Filipinos by heart. Having stayed in the Philippines for more than a decade, it’s presumed that they are already knowledgeable with Pinoy culture and tradition, which were gauged by the Unkabogable Star by having them play a Pinoy-themed game in an episode of GGV in 2019.

In this game, they had to compete with one another in naming the stuff that were being featured in the slew of images shown to them. Whoever got the correct answer had the power to choose which food he would want the loser to eat. Unfortunately for Ryan, he had to munch an entire grilled chicken head, or "helmet,” and have a taste of adobong palaka after losing to JinHo.

Vice Ganda introduces Filipino dishes to Momoland

They might be disbanded already, but their guesting in GGV is arguably one of the most unforgettable core memories of Momoland during their second visit here in the Philippines in 2019.

In their appearance on the comedy talk show that was aired in January 2020, the Unkabogable Star was a gracious host as she didn’t simply interview Momoland with the help of his anak-anakan Ryan Bang, but she also made the members try a few classic Filipino dishes. The GGV team prepared cochinillo, pork chicharron, pork sisig, and pork sinigang for them—which they all liked, especially Vice’s “daughter” JooE!

They also poked fun at the facial reactions of the members as they took a sip of the sour soup of sinigang.
