David (McCoy de Leon)'s world is getting smaller and smaller in his attempt to steal Tanggol (Coco Martin)'s identity. Every day, he has to keep this secret, especially from Tanggol's father, Ramon (Christopher de Leon). Watch how David tries to prevent Ramon from finding out the truth in this Kapamilya Toplist of scenes from "FPJ's Batang Quiapo." 

Yes, David would go to extreme lengths, even kill, to protect his schemes. To recall, the first person to catch onto his game was Ramon’s loyal right-hand man, Severino (Dindo Arroyo), who started looking into his place and uncovered his lies. When they finally faced off, Severino called Ramon to spill what he just found out, but David shot him before he could say anything other than his name, "David."

Ramon had Severino's death investigated, with the name 'David' as the key lead. In a scene, while Ramon was having a phone call with the police officer he assigned to the investigation, David got nervous when he overheard his name, so much so he spilled wine on his shirt. Knowing the investigation was underway, he thought to himself that he needed to distract Ramon.

When Ramon decided to expand their drug syndicate by bringing in more people and wanted to recruit from Quiapo, David tried to low-key steer him away from the idea. He suggested they might not need more guys from Quiapo, thinking it could expose their illegal businesses. But deep down, he was scared because Ramon might uncover who the real Tanggol is once he steps into Quiapo, especially with all Montenegro family's connections in the area.

David’s world got even tighter when Ramon met a guy who supposedly looked like him when he was younger. From the description, David immediately knew it was Tanggol. So, he suggested they should kill the guy, but Ramon didn’t say anything and just walked out of the room. This left David fuming with anger.

For us viewers, it was such a satisfying moment seeing David looking like he was about to pee in fear when Ramon started getting curious about David's family, especially his mom, Marites (Cherry Pie Picache). He straight-up said he didn’t want their paths crossing, but when Ramon asked why, David just started spinning lies and claimed he didn’t want to stir trouble knowing how dangerous his other dad, Rigor (John strada), could be. He said Rigor wouldn’t stop until Ramon is dead. But Ramon wasn’t fazed by the warning. The truth is, it was David who trembled in fear when Ramon subtly declared that he actually has the power to kill Rigor, and that Rigor would’ve been dead a long time ago if David hadn’t stopped him before. 

In another scene, David couldn't hold back his anger when he directly confronted Ramon for secretly meeting with Marites and falling for her and wanting to build a "family" with her. David was furious. He emphasized that Marites was still married to Rigor, so it'd be wrong for another man to have a relationship with her. Sensing that David was trying to protect his other dad, Ramon reminded him of who his real father is. Ramon even went as far as to say that he only lent 'Tanggol' and Marites to Rigor and that he's now ready to take them back. Of course, David tried so hard to hold his anger in. 

We bet you were all frustrated and annoyed watching that scene where David put on a whole dramatic performance, crying and pleading just to stop Ramon and steer him away from the truth.  What happened was that David, like a devil whispering in Rigor's ear, told him about Marites' supposed affair, which led to a huge confrontation between Rigor and Marites. The timing was almost too perfect, as Ramon was lurking around the Dimaguiba abode when it happened. He was about to charge into the room to teach Rigor a lesson, but David, almost like Rigor's loyal puppy, stepped in, blocked his way and begged him to leave, saying he doesn't want things to get messier and Marites to get hurt.
